Another fab haircut and colour from Mike. very happy :)
This place is head and shoulders above every other salon in central London, the value is incredible! And we're not talking some scruffy back road salon, it's just yards away from Piccadilly station, the service is great, multiple drinks on demand an just a generally funky cosy atmosphere. They do such majestic work with my hair, my hair has always been notoriously hard to get right but they consistently do exactly what I want with such aplomb. Importantly they tend to open till late on weekdays so can get my highlights done after work! Though those slots tend to full up pretty fast. Overall a great salon with top notch staff x
Don't expect any bells and whistles, but great for the price! Really happy with how my hair looks and the blow dry was lovely. Two niggles, it would have been good to have a consultation prior to a hair wash, and it was a little odd that my hairdresser only checked I was happy with how much he was cutting off after already cutting a chunk off. All worked out well, and I'll go back!
I had my hair cut by Ionas last week, when I arrived, he hadn't finished cutting a lady's hair so I had to wait for nearly 40 minutes while she faffed around. When I was eventually seen, he first began just blowdrying my hair before he dried it before cutting and I had to point out I wanted a cut. He then dry cut my hair and dried it curly, I had said I wanted to keep it long but just wanted a trim and some layers as my naturally wavy hair dries nicely with layers. I was happy with the blow dry and curls and couldn't really tell there was anything wrong and was out of the hairdressers pretty quickly. The next day I washed and straightened my hair and realised how bad my haircut was, the front was about three inches shorter than the back and there was no graduation it literally was two blocks wither side. I was so upset and called the hairdressers to arrange a correction. The receptionist was so unhelpful and said she could 'squeeze me in' for a week later. I got there 15 minutes early and then was told they had messed up my appointment and I had to wait 40 mins. As I had plans I asked if someone else could cut it instead and she said someone else would be 20 minutes. So I waited and then a bearded man grumpily arrived to cut my hair. He asked what I wanted and was just clearly annoyed he had to do and was so unhelpful. I said I wanted to keep it long and just blend the layers so it's less blocky. He said 'if you don't want layers you shouldn't have asked for them.' He washed my hair, didn't use any conditioner and then trimmed it. When he dried it, I was still not happy as it still looked odd. He then took more off the length and blunt cut it. By this point I was so upset I just wanted to leave. Not one person apologised to me about it, not even Ionas who was there and clearly knew what had happened. It was absolutely appalling service and I would not recommend this place again. I have now booked another appointment in a professional salon for tomorrow. I will never be returning to Gusto again.
Staff was friendly as usual. Haircut went well, had no trouble explaining what I wanted.
