Founded in 2001, Nubian Hair Salon was created from a passion for hair and a commitment to inclusivity. From the very beginning, I have worked hard to build a space that offers not only exceptional hair styling services, but also a welcoming ambiance that nurtures and celebrates people of all colours, nationalities, and diverse backgrounds. At Nubian Hair Salon, we value creativity, quality, and excellence, while fostering a positive and supportive environment for both clients and stylists alike. Our goal is to deliver consistently high standards of service, building a loyal client base who feel confident, valued, and happy—many of whom become long-term clients and trusted friends. My journey has not been without its challenges, but each experience has shaped and strengthened me, contributing to the stylist and professional I am today. I am NVQ Level 3 qualified in Hairdressing and offer a wide range of specialist services, including: Silk Press Keratin Treatments Re-style Cutting Curly Perms Relaxers (including corrective services) Colour and Highlights Creative Colour

Established in 2001 by Avril Solarin, Nubian opened its doors to the first client in Chelmsford’s eclectic West End and is now firmly on the map as the leading independent Afro Black & Mixed race hair salon in the county.
