I went to McIntyres on the reccomendation of a friend, to get my hair cut from long to short prior to chemotherapy treatment. They had no prior warning, my friend came with me, and Emily was brilliant. It was only afterwards that I thought just how impactful thst might be on her, she's only young, and as I say she was genuine, caring and totally focused. Made it a really special experience and I've hust has my first chemo session and all went really well.
Horrendous! I came in for the first time to get a Brazilian wax with Joanna. Joanna herself was nice enough but I am actually appalled at the treatment. I had booked this as a treat for myself after being paid and have completely wasted my money. There was no disposable underwear firstly, then the strip wax and hot wax was only applied literally once in some areas meaning there are loads of areas in which the hairs are extremely noticeably still there. At the beginning I also gave her specific instructions on how I wanted the landing strip. She left it uneven with SO many sparse hairs around it. As the treatment went on I assumed (pretty standardly) that she would go over the parts she had missed. Imagine my surprise when she started talking about the aftercare! I asked her if she could please finish the parts she had missed to which she replied she’d already started a new pot of wax for the next client and that I could go home and shave it off?!!!? I left and literally went to Superdrug to buy waxing strips meaning I’m now £7 out of pocket AS WELL as paying for this treatment. I am still so shocked- I am not the type to leave reviews but this is next level and I don’t want anyone to make the mistake I did- stick with your usual therapist.
