The treatments were fantastic cannot fault them. The beauty therapist was lovely and very professional, talked through what she was doing etc made you feel welcome. The only think that spoiled it was the fact that children are allowed in the pool accompanied by an adult. I don't think this should be allowed in a hotel spa regardless if they are staying there. They are too noisy and spoil the whole reason why people attend a spa, to get away from noise and chaos. However the pool is ideal when not too busy and the Jacuzzi and Steam room are good too. Lunch was perfect.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the day. Spa facilities were very clean and all robes and towels were included which was an added bonus. Lunch was good too. You could have had a a variety paninis and sides or choose from a range of salads. It also included a glass of prosecco each and we were not stuck to a time in which we could have it. The only thing that let it down for me was the pedicure. It was only a file and paint. Something which I could have done myself. It did not include foot scrub, buffer or moisturise. This may have been down to the short 25 minute slot. That said my friend really enjoyed her walking on air treatment. Overall I think the experience was value for money and I would go back again.

Ok spa. Very annoyed the jacuzzi was out of order (for the next 3 weeks). Pool is nice, sauna fine. Steam room was a bit grubby, as were the showers which looks like they needed a good scrub. Reception staff in the hotel were miserable, but bar and spa staff were very friendly. No consistency with the facials. Me and 2 friends all chose facials and got completely different treatments (I wasn't asked about my skin care routine or skin, but had my makeup removed, and visa versa for my friends).

We booked the Time to Melt spa day because it looked like such great value; there is a reason why it's so cheap! Our therapist was totally unprofessional and (as far as we could tell) completely unqualified. She had no idea what she was doing and made the entire experience awkward and uncomfortable. My friend took her treatments first and I was told to go up for my treatment 45 minutes later, which I did only to sit in the waiting room for 20 minutes before being told actually they'd moved my appointment to after my friend had totally finished. This wasted my time going up and down the stairs instead of being relaxed in the spa but also meant that my friend and I had practically no time together in the spa that day. She had admitted to my friend during her appointment that she had to leave the room to ask her manager how to do one of the treatments as she hadn't done it before and came back just moments later... is this how quick it is to be trained as a beauty therapist??? At the start of both of our treatments, the therapist turned the spotlights up to full which was so bright our eyes were watering; not a relaxing start! The therapist was unprepared for my friends appointment; she moved her leg into position and then went to the sink to prepare herself, leaving my friend in an uncomfortable position. For her back and facial treatments, the spotlights were turned down but the one above the sink right by her head was left on fully bright which again was uncomfortable and not relaxing. Her facial was meant to last 40 minutes but ended up taking only 20 due to the therapist skipping most of the steps! She had questioned my friend about allergies beforehand seeing as she could see her skin was fairly blotchy but my friend assured her she wasn't allergic to anything and this was quite normal for her so why she would cut the facial short we don't know! When I eventually met the therapist, she flopped down on the sofa whilst I stood in the doorway and she casually asked "What are you having???" despite being told we had to select our treatments in advance. I questioned this and she told me she never gets told what she's doing she just gets given names and time slots.... how bizarre! When I was told to get on the massage table, I was given a tiny towel to cover up with that barely did so (and I'm very petite!) and during the treatment whilst being told to turn over, I got no assistance so struggled to handle the towel myself keeping myself covered whilst she just stood and stared at me. I have a lot of knots in my shoulders and I could feel that she had found them but she barely gave them any attention. The air conditioning vent and surrounding surface was disgustingly dirty, it was black with dust, a bit of a put off considering you’re expecting to come out of the room clean & fresh! The whole experience felt as though we were guinea pigs for a student who had just begun her training and yet we paid full price! Definitely the worst massage I've ever had! The facilities themselves were alright but be warned that they allow children into the pool who scream and splash about; not very relaxing! The pool area was incredibly hot too but the pool itself seemed freezing in comparison. We were so thirsty and expected to find jugs of cucumber water or something like that in reception but unfortunately we just had to pay for bottled water. When my friend went to buy them from reception, she was totally ignored by the reception staff who were more interested in gossiping with each other and munching on their dinner. It's totally unprofessional to sit eating in front of customers let alone chatting about what you're doing at the weekend! The lunch was more like pub grub but it was as expected and we were pleasantly surprised that it came with a free glass of wine so that was a plus. But it did feel awkward to be sitting in the main hotel bar in our dressing gowns sat next to men in suits having a business meeting. Overall, I would highly recommend steering clear. It wasn't the relaxing experience I was looking for for my birthday and we left feeling more frustrated than relaxed.
