After reading numerous amazing reviews for this place, I decided to give it a go myself. I booked the Saturday special massage deal which was just too good to resist. Although I had booked via wahanda, I shortly received a call telling me my appointment slot was not available - this was quickly sorted out to a date which worked for me. So that was okay. The salon is under a hairdressers, at first I was worried about the noises I would hear and whether I would be able to zone out (as I like to do) during a massage but that was no problem at all! The retreat is really sweet and nicely decorated. I had Gabriella who was very friendly and professional - the two things I expect from a beauty therapist. The room she took me into was nice and clean and it didn't take me long to relax. Gabriella applied a medium/sometimes firm pressure throughout my massage - this worked so nicely for my back! (My favourite part of a full body massage). There were times were it was too firm, but to be fair I didn't say anything and just went with it - probably too sleepy to talk! (I always say that unless you speak up you can't really complain about it later) in this case, I didn't mind this part of the massage as it was only short lived. One thing I really loved about this place, is the care that was taken when moving the towel around - for example, Gabriella didn't just place the towel on top of my arms - she also made sure it was wrapped under my arms so I was warm. This is a small but noticed touch that I really appreciated about this appointment. Other places should take note on the subtle gestures which go noticed. Finally, I booked this same deal with my mum for her birthday and she had a wonderful massage. I asked her if her therapist had asked her to turn over for the second half of her massage and she said she did. I only ask, because I had my entire full body done face down and wondered about this. But to be fair, it meant I didn't have to move :-) Overall, a wonderful little gem behind busy Oxford Street - definitely going back and would recommend!
There were no reviews for eyelash extensions at The Retreat at Czaro so I was a bit anxious about booking, but I had a special party coming up and it was such a good deal that I decided to go for it. The place is easy to get to: close to three tube stations and dozens of bus routes. After being pleasantly greeted by the staff upstairs I was shown downstairs to a fairly small area where a friendly therapist made me feel welcome, even though she was working on another client's nails. She showed me the eyelash extensions she had just had done and they looked thick and natural. I only waited a few minutes before being shown into the treatment room. I was asked if I wanted a natural look or a longer look. Not knowing what either would look like, I said I wanted to look as if I had lots of mascara on. After that, my therapist quietly got on with her work which suited me fine as I could just lie back and relax during the treatment, which took nearly one and a half hours, but didn't seem anything like that long. The result was spectacular. They were thick and long, but didn't look fake. Everyone at my party commented on how glamorous I looked, and it has given me the motivation to put on makeup each day, especially now it only takes a couple of minutes as I don't have to bother with mascara. One week on I have had a few fall out, but the overall effect is still dramatic. They are certainly worth having done for a special occasion. However, I have heard some horror stories about eyelash extensions so it is important to go somewhere that has been recommended. Here is that recommendation: you won't be disappointed.
This tiny salon is hidden downstairs underneath a hair salon very close to Oxford Circus. The compact size means that you can hear what is happenign in the waiting/manicure area while you are having your treatment. HOWEVER, the facial I had here was so good that i was almost in a trance by the time I emarged and cared not one jot about the noise. A head and foot massage while my face was under a masque was the cherry on top and - despite arriving very stressed - I left blissed out and far happier. The Saturday deal is fantatstic and I woudl go back in a trice.
Hannah was absolutely brilliant. The massage was a deep tissue, with really good pressure and so relaxing, I was practically asleep within minutes. The Salon is small, and underneath a hair dressers, but it's really well done out, very calm and quiet with simple white decor. would highly recommend either for massage or with Jade for a manicure.
I usually just opt for strip waxing, but Ella introduced me to hot wax and I am delighted. She does it without hardly any pain, or mess and leaves me without redness. This is my second visit to Ella and will definitely go back again and again.
