I fell in love with yoga when I was 15 years old growing up in Glastonbury. My mum took me along to a class with her, and after experiencing that relaxed sense of clarity and joy I was hooked! Almost a decade later, in 2014 I completed my first Yoga Teacher Training Course at the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas. We were completely immersed in the yogic lifestyle, eating a pure, yogic diet, practicing Asana (yoga postures) four hours a day, studying philosophy as well as meditation and Kirtan chanting. I then returned in 2017 for four months to deepen my practice and develop my teaching skills. I served 3 months as a Karma Yogi and complete my 500hour Advanced Teacher Training Course. I love to offer outdoor yoga sessions with groups of six and work with women to provide one to one yoga tuition and Thai massage treatments as part of a healthy lifestyle, to improve overall wellbeing, flexibility and mental health. She has several years experience of training, qualifying and working as a holistic therapist in Dublin, Ireland and Bristol, UK. She is a qualified Reiki teacher with diplomas in Anatomy & Physiology, Holistic/Swedish Massage and is also certified to perform Indian Head Massage. Karoona is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapist and of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATM). She works with her skills, confidence and intuition to bring you gentle yet powerful holistic treatments.
I have been a practicing massage therapist since 1999. I have trained in a variety of massage techniques such as Swedish, Deep tissue, Indian head , Thai foot & Pregnancy massage. I have gained vast experience from massaging a wide range of individuals in a variety of settings. I began my studies in Swedish Massage and went on to study health studies in 2001 with my final project being “Stress in the workplace” Since 2005, I have specialised in seated acupressure massage within the workplace. Working in this area has taught me an invaluable lesson on how the body responds to external stressors, and how this accumulated tension if not released, can have detrimental effects on our body as a whole. I work with each client holistically and have a client centred approach. I will do my utmost to ensure that the clients needs are met and exceeded in each and every treatment. By working with the body as a whole and looking at the clients lifestyle and postural habits, I believe positive changes will naturally occur from making small adjustments to how we carry and apply ourselves. This is so important as part of your self care routine in a post Covid-19 world!

I was first introduced to hypnotherapy when a friend recognised that I was struggling with self-confidence on the back of my divorce. During my marriage I experienced first hand the full force of anxiety disorder and depression.At first, as with most people, I was sceptical at how it could help me, yet within just a few weeks began to notice changes, not only with my confidence, it in my mood and my ability to focus. I felt a lightness that I hadn’t felt in what seemed like such a long time and was more proactive in my work as well as my personal life. I can hand on heart say that those weeks gave me my life back and some! It was many years later (and with a lot of nagging from a good friend) that I took the plunge and trained as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. That was almost 4 years ago now and i am still constantly amazed at how effective hypnotherapy is at managing what seems like an endless list of conditions as well as the surge of emotion when client begins to see change, it’s one of the best feelings in the world and why I love my job! As a practitioner, I pride myself in my ability to structure sessions to the clients needs, ensuring maximum understanding and benefit from their therapy, In a friendly and professional manner, whilst retaining discretion and complete confidentiality. I was awarded my Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy at the renowned Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) in Bristol. I also hold the nationally accredited Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma – the ‘Gold Standard’ in Hypnotherapy training – awarded through The National Council For Hypnotherapy. I am a member of The National Council for Hypnotherapy along with the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy and I abide by their code of ethics.
