After we booked we got a call from the spa not happy as they said they'd informed Treatwell they were running short on places so we would have to have treatments at 9am or cancel. I said we would have to come at 9am then. I got a call the following day saying we were now booked in at 1.30pm for treatments so we were over the moon as we could fit in some shopping for my birthday in the morning. We arrived at 10.15am & were told we were late as only half our treatments were pushed to 1.30pm. I asked if we could pop in now as we were only 15mins late & was told we couldn't as that member of staff was off anyway due to an emergency. We were told they would try & fit our pedicures in later or we could come back another say, as we live over 50 miles away I said it would gave to be done that day. We were given a towel & a gown & said she would see us later. I asked if they were able tell us where the facilities were & was told briefly . We went to the pool area which was being used by hotel guests which meant families & children, I love kids but I'd come for a spa day for a mummy break from my own littles ones. The pool had 2 loungers, which had been taken & some patio chairs so we headed for the relaxation room for a lie down. The relaxation room was locked & they had to get the chef from the hotel to come & open it which took 10 mins. When we went it it had a 2 seater leather couch & 4 patio seats in darkness, no where to lie down. We thought we'd have an early lunch so looked at the menu in the 'resturant' which was really an unmannedbar next to reception. We went to reception & asked about a coffee & the receptionist come over & made us a luke warm cup of super powered undrinkable coffee, we presumed the filter coffee was left over from the previous day. We decided to cut our loses & head into Chester for lunch which was lovely. We came back for our massage & was hoping the day could be saved. The member of staff I had was good at what she did but I was in a room with bright day-light, no darkened room, & the worst pan-pipe music i'd heard since the 90's. We then sat for a manicure & again the girl who did my nails was good but unfortunately my polish still hadn't hardened 3 hours later, no express hardener spray was used, so I had to remove it in the car on the way home. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Its a leisure centre with a few cheap budha pictures hanging on the wall. The decir was really outdated & I felt more stressed when I left than when I arrived
The staff seemed very itritated and a little rude, the spa was very unlept and out of date and in a good need of a complete makeover, however the room itself was pleasant, the breakfast was pleasant and the hotel was a very quick cheap taxi ride to chester city centre. The whole hotel has the potential to be fabulous just needs updating and cleaning.
Enjoyable overnight spa break including dinner and breakfast. Hotel little bit dated and tired and leisure facilities in need of refurb but overall it was good value for money with very nice staff.
Amazing experience. Had the best most relaxing time at the Mollington. Lovely treatments and nice facilities. Massive pool which is great and a nice jacuzzi. Very clean place. Not the most modern, but they make it all up with excellent service treatments and overall relaxing experience! Will be back.
I visited the Mollington Banastre Hotel for a Spa break and have to say that it was fantastic. The staff were amazing and the treatments were great. The food was incredible and the gardens around the hotel are beautiful. We enjoyed it so much we ended up staying the night! The room was great and the breakfast in the morning was top notch. Safe to say I will be returning. A great Spa break at incredible value.
