Hotel was at the high standard expected for a Mecure Hotel, need a good clean around windows and corridors down to spa. Spa was very basic not what I would expect for a hotel offering leisure breaks. The staff in the hotel couldn't be faulted they were, welcoming, friendly and very helpful. My daughter and I both had a massage, which was excellent, very relaxing and taylored to my medical needs, I would definitely recommend a treatment.
the steam room was closed so couldn't experience that and we wanted twin bedrooms not double beds and didn't find out till next morning that there could of been twin beds available
This was a welcome break, just a night away with a spa and dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was ok, for the break price you wouldn't expect more, but looked a little tired. The spa was very relaxing and quiet, although we didn't partake of treatments, the pool, steam room and (pool temperature) jacuzzi was enough for us. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent, although it seemed to be a main walkway for a wedding party (and at one point the hoover and empty bottles created by them). Our nights sleep was disturbed by the wedding disco, our room was directly above the dancefloor. It would have been nice to have been notified before the music began at 9.30pm, or allocated a room away from the noise as we were not part of the party. But the bed was comfortable and shower the next morning good.
Lovely hotel and facilities, staff extremely helpful. We had booked in for the leisure break and was a barging for what we paid and we will be going back again. Facilities excellent, the only thing I would suggest is to have some music on in the pool area it was far too quiet. WILL BE GOING BACK SOON ☺
I went for a One Night Leisure Break and have awarded it 4 stars. Good points - Nice spa facilities, a generous £22 per person for the evening meal and a delicious breakfast. Bad points - The room (was allocated a disabled room and it wasn't required), no hot Jacuzzi (the alternative was a pool temperature whirl pool and it was freezing. Overall £98 for an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast is great value for two people, hence the 4 stars.
