What a great treatment. When the LED light mask is on, Giovanna was doing a fabulous foot massage after a herbal foot soak and scrub and then moved onto my hands. The treatment was finished with a fantastic facial massage then finished with a creamy face mask. I left the building feeling so relaxed with glowing skin and soft feet and hands. Would highly recommend!

Meet the team

About

Hi, I am Giovanna Castaldo, a massage therapist with over 20 years of experience, originating from Italy. I have a Master’s Degree in Biology and Human Nutrition. After few years of work in a factory as a quality control manager, I understood that it wasn’t the right path for me. I decided to embark on a new journey and tried a different career. I enrolled for a Shiatsu practitioner course in Italy, where during training, my passion for massages blossomed. During this course I realized that wellness therapies were my goal and passion and following that, I enrolled in many other courses to expand my knowledge. I opened my first centre in the city I used to live near Naples, it was called Ara del Benessere (The Altar of Wellness) and I ran it for six years. In 2012, I closed my business to move to Edinburgh to join my love and future husband. Since then, I’ve continued to work as a therapist in a busy and well settled massage centre in Edinburgh. In 2026, twenty years after Ara del Benessere, I decided to start my own business once again. Harmonious Life is the space where everybody will be able to find their own favoured treatment tailored to their needs.
