Lovely kind hairdresser. Charging extra for hair length seems unnecessary
Very bizarre experience but haircut fine! I’d booked a £26 wash and haircut through Treatwell but when I arrived, once explaining I wanted about 5 inches off, I was told it would cost £51 because my hair was extra long (it was just below my shoulder blades). I was told that I could only get a trim for £26 so I decided to cancel as I didn’t want to pay to then have to go get it cut again somewhere else. The manager then intervened and finally it was agreed I could pay £30 (which I was happy with). The woman who was meant to cut my hair obviously didn’t want to (she seemed quite irritated with me) so I had someone else and the haircut was quick and results are fine. Just be wary if you have long hair that it might not be a relaxing experience - it took 30 minutes to sort out the payment issue! This seemed like a nice salon so it’s a shame I had such a stressful experience.
The haircut isn’t bad. However the venue was so hectic the staff were snapping at each other and my hairdresser kept snapping at me. She did everything different to what I asked because “she was the stylist so knew better” overall unhappy.
I booked myself a birthday treat and came away very impressed with the colour and the skills of my stylist, Jana. I did find this venue a bit overpriced, even for its location, which was exacerbated by the fact that I had to pay £20 more for hair dye since I have Afro, unrelaxed hair. I understand that my hair has more volume and so I don't mind paying more, but i also didn't really get a blow dry because of this same reason, so I felt like the £20 extra should have been cancelled out. Still, the staff were all lovely and the venue itself was sparkling clean, but next time I may go somewhere else more accustomed to handling black hair.
The salon was beautiful and in a fantastic area. I only had to wait a few minutes, and was served delicious coffee. Unfortunately, the "rough blow dry" described on the booking was interpreted differently by two staff members, so there was a bit of confusion. However, my hair (I got t-section highlights), was a great way to touch up my roots at an affordable price compared to the rest of the high streets! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality salon treatment.
