Lovely cut and blow dry!
All the staff were lovely! Felt in very safe hands
Desperately needing a hair cut I couldn’t be happier that I picked gusto hairdressers. The vibe and music in there was great, staff were really friendly also. Highly recommend!
Before my visit, I'd read some bad reviews about the salon which I believe to to be true. For me though, my visit was not bad. From reading the reviews on here, it seems most customers who've booked through Treatwell are being asked to pay an extra £6 on top of what we've already paid because at the salon appointment we're told our hair is longer than the length we've booked online. When booking online, there are 4 options: short (above jawline), medium, long, extra long. The salon explain online what length they mean by short but don't explain for the other 3 lengths. They have a note to say For very long hair (close to waist) there may be a surcharge of £6. Very long hair is defined as up to waist length. I define Medium length as past the shoulders and Extra long or very long length as on the waist/ top of hips or longer, the salon told me they define Medium as above the shoulders and Extra long or very long as any length past t-shirt sleeve length! They need to be clear online about their definitions.qq I have a problem with salons charging by hair length and this salon is no different. My hair was long and I just wanted a trim. A trim should be cheaper because it's a lot less work and time for the hairdresser to trim hair than it is for them to do a haircut and then to style it. I've trimmed my own hair and other people's hair, it's really not a difficult job and should obviously be easier for a hairdresser. Also, if salons set prices by hair length, why not also by the amount of hair because to cut through a lot of hair is more work and time than it is to cut through a lesser amount of hair?! Also, exactly the same length of hair will sit lower or higher on somebody depending on their height. For a shorter person their hair will appear longer and on a taller person their hair will appear shorter. It's not a fair pricing system! Staff were friendly and welcoming (the woman on reception, Fillipos, Emile and another hairdresser who might've been Loddy). I was offered a hot tea. My hair had become dry and using masks at home hadn't fixed the dryness. I had hoped the salon mask treatment would fix my dry hair. It didn't. The head massage was REALLY good (thanks Fillipo, 10/10). I wish the massage had lasted more than a few seconds. Emile trimmed my hair as I wanted it. He didn't apply any heat protection products before blow drying my hair, which is not great. I liked that he got on with his job instead of talking a lot... some hairdressers love to ask personal questions which I don't like as I don't want to talk about personal stuff with a hairdresser and to have the rest of the salon overhearing too. Another thing, which I've also seen in this salon and others, is hairbrushes with lots of hair tangled up on them. This isn't hygienic. I'd like to see salons using clean, hair free brushes on customers. The toilet was nice and clean. The hair wash basin was uncomfortable, like other salons, as I'm 5ft 2" and the sinks are high. I would go back to get a haircut from Fillipos, Loddy or Emile. If I were to get only a trim, the price would have to be much lower for me to return.
I had a hair cut and blow dry with Denisa and totally loved it. Quick and good value for money.
