Marie was brilliant. She really takes the time to find out exactly what you want and then advises for the best results. I’m really really pleased with the cut and colour and for the advice!
This was my first visit to Gusto Hairdressing as I needed a new hairdresser after moving to London. I got a wash and cut for medium hair with a hair mask treatment and blowdry. The staff here are very nice and friendly and understood I had a Treatwell booking. The actual venue is very nice and clean and looks quite artsy and posh which I liked! It seemed very professional. My stylist (I feel so bad, I cant remember her name! but she was French) was so nice and friendly and made good conversation but wasn't overly chatty which I don't really like during haircuts. Good selection of magazines to read too! I was brought a glass of water and a cupcake on a gold plate before my haircut!! I liked that a lot.
The actual treatment was very, very good. My hairwash was nice and relaxing and the shampoo used was smelled very good and left my hair nice and soft. The mask treatment was amazing. I thought I would just be left with a mask on my hair but I was actually given a lovely head massage which relaxed me so much.
At first, my stylist didn't want to cut my hair as short as I'd wanted (My hair is very straight and I was getting it cut into a bob). But I explained I usually have a bob and I just hadn't had a cut in a good few months and she cut my hair exactly as I liked and gave me such a good blow dry (the best I've ever had!). I had a really cool, stylish, voluminous bob afterwards and it's one of the nicest if not the best haircut I've ever had. She put some hairspray and volumising powder on my hair to finish. It looked great. I will be coming back!!!
Nb: the toilet was so nice too- great décor and had nice hand soap and handcream. I recommend this place highly! It was good to book with treatwell too as I could just leave after and didn't have to fiddle about with paying as it was quite busy in there.
A day before the appointment I got a call from the lady who manages the appointments. She asked me to confirm my appointment at 7pm. I said that my appointment was at 5.10pm. She was quite argumentative but in the end confirmed my appointment at 5.10pm. A week before when I called to book my appointment I remember she confirmed the 5.10pm appointment twice and it's impossible that there could had been a misunderstanding. It looks like she postponed my appointment without letting me know.
I started doubting that the price she confirmed over the phone would be the same as on Treatwell. So I asked her to email me the booking confirmation. Not only she refused but started being rude telling me "I told you your appointment is at 5.10". I said if you cannot email me the booking confirmation I'm gonna have to cancel the appointment. She carried on arguing with me. In the end I asked her to cancel my booking and to let me know her name. Instead of giving me her name she mumbled something pretending she was telling me her name. I asked her for the spelling but she kept repeating " I told you my name". After having asked her 6 times her name and its spelling and she refused, I asked to speak to her manager but she said that she was the manager.
I think somebody so unprofessional should be fired on the spot. It's a shame that I had been waiting for that appointment for 1 week and had to cancel just one day before the appointment . I couldn't find quickly another appointment which I really needed because of my wedding anniversary that happened to be on the day of the appointment.
I used to book always through Treatwell, but this time I booked over the phone as the hairdresser last time I had an appointment with kindly asked me to book over the phone in the future and not through Treatwell. I thought I did them a favour... what a mistake!
