So I waited a day before publishing this review as I was so upset I was actually in tears leaving the appointment and I wanted to be fair in my assessment - but having woken up this morning in even more pain I think I can safely say that was the worst massage I've ever had (and I should know as I've been having them weekly for a bad back). I'm not sure the therapist knew what she was doing as she kept rubbing her forearms/elbows over my bones rather than muscle tissue. I left in more pain than when I went in. When I expressed discomfort she became oppositional and quite rude. This only got worse when we moved on to the facial - the treatment itself was ok but she kept laughing at me and making critical comments. This all came to a head towards the end when she basically implied a small birthmark on my face (which I am very self-conscious about) was my fault for not using enough sunscreen. I left the salon in tears. I've been really unwell recently and this was meant to be a treat to cheer me up - I feel like I've been robbed. It's a shame as I normally rate this salon but after this experience I'm not sure I ever want to go back. And in any case it was hardly 'relaxing' due to all the noise from the reception area.
