I was looking forward to a relaxing pregancy message two weeks after the birth of my second child. However, this massage was far from relaxing. The massuese performed a very deep tissue massage, including putting her knees on back of my legs, working up to my back and I had to ask for her to stop as it was too much. There was also no consultation at the start of the massage so I explained how far postnatal I was and suggested a massage performed on my side but the masseuse assured my lying on my stomach was fine. This ended up being uncomfortable with tenderness after breastfeeding. Overall this was not a good experience and I would not recommend for a postnatal massage. If I was after a strong deep tissue massage on another occassion I may consider going back here.
In general I am happy with my visit. The massage left me feeling very relaxed and the girl doing it was lovely. The people on reception also seemed friendly. The venue looked pretty clean, the room was a bit small and dark but clean which is the most important.
Only thing is that you can hear everything that happens while your treatment is going on. I could literally hear the man next door having his cups removed. There is music but it's pretty quiet. Although I'm guessing this is just due to the building having thin walls so not sure how they can improve this. Overall happy and do recommend.
The massage was amazing! quite expensive but well worth it.
However I was left extremely disappointed by the treatment after:
I booked a 30 min pregnancy massage I was also offered a "doctor " consultation " I thought it would be fun and since it was complimentary..why not? upon the consultation I agreed to treat my acne (since I'm pregnant I had a breakout and in very conscious and low about it ) the "mask" was £70 I don't want to spend that sort of money but the lady insisted it was miraculous and took £10 off. I thought I should treat myself since it makes me so depressed! the massage was bliss and a very skilled lady massaged me. But then,at the end she didn't know what to do with me and brought me back to reception (no one was there). I didn't have much time and was left 25 min on my own waiting for someone to come get me for my facial. At that price I was very excited!! so I didn't say anything even though I was starting to be impatient. then the 2 lady's were in a consultation and seemed too busy . one told me to go back downstairs in the same room. I obliged. another 10 min wait. I heard loud noise doors slammed steps in stairs etc .. I had no idea what to expect then the reception lady comes back in a rush speaking so fast and explaining that she'll put the mask on my face.
She avoided my noise explaining that the cling film would not stick... she spread it quite roughly on my face stick some cling film 5 min . no more words were said but I asked how long and she said half hour.
I had a clock in the room and 45 min later I was green faced and bursting for the bathroom (yup pregnant) I left quietly and on my return to the room started to call out for someone. the same lady rushed back down the stairs she told me they were too busy and the timer didn't ring (thanks so too busy to take my money too?) then she abruptly slammed a damp towel on my face and rubbed, spreading the green paste up inside my nose etc.. then gave up explaining that normally clients take a normal shower (?) , she asked me to do it myself giving me some face wash samples already opened and half used . at that point my £60 facial ..... I cleaned myself and left without a word. I'm utterly shocked that this cost me £60 I could have saved that money for baby . I believed it could be a treat and a relaxing moment which it was for the 30min pregnancy massage. (£45) but all my zen disappeared after that.
really poor service. I'm a neighbour and could have been a good client for massage but I can't after what happened.
