Following a facial wax, I was offered a brow tint on the spot. There was no discussion of the importance of carrying out a patch test beforehand. If the correct procedure had been followed, it would have shown that I was severely allergic to PPD. Subsequently I had to seek medical attention for swelling around my eyes and face, and my eyebrows look as though they have experienced chemical burns. Please always ensure a patch test is carried out.
