We took a day off work to enjoy a "Turkish Bath Spa Day".
It was hilariously awful! This venue does not provide anything remotely akin to a Turkish Bath. It was more like a half hearted bed bath, on a freezing cold stone slab, shivering in a wet swim suit because they'd turned the steam off in the already tepid steam room. Meanwhile my friend sat shivering for the duration of my treatment with nowhere else to go because the other spa facilities were not working! The massage was good, but again we were laying on wet swimming costumes for an hour having just been told to lay down in them. We complained of being very cold and uncomfortable - it was a really unpleasant experience that has given me back pain from tense muscles.
The mani- pedicure was excellent, this is something they clearly do well. But they are extremely misleading and over ambitious in selling a "spa day".
The lunch that was included came from the cafe next door - they told us after 45 minutes that they forgot our order and would be back (this was about 3pm, 4 hours after we asked for an early lunch). When they came back it was with a sandwich instead of the salad that was ordered.
Insult to injury was when I thanked them on our way out and I was asked very rudely if I had paid online. They'd had 5 hours to check this rather than trying to embarrass me in front of everyone on my way out of the door.
Yes, I had paid online. £230. I really wish I hadn't.
The treatments are overall pretty good, is it just a shame that the venue is small and not really cozy/pleasant to be at, also the steam room is not worth it.
The staff is not incredibly friendly, they don't really say anything and don't even inform you about what is happening next or what the treatments are.
We didn't get the Indian Head Massage, when I mentioned this I they were pretty rude and said that this was not a part of the package according to them.
I had my treatments and was fairly happy with the end results, but I would definitely never go back.
