This was my first time there, but was very happy with my manicure.
Was able to get it done during a lunch break in work. The woman was also very lovely.
Would definitely go there again.
Worst manicure I have ever had. Not even sure where to start… I wasn’t made to feel welcome at all, and in fact felt like an inconvenience the whole time. Definitely wasn’t made to feel like a paying customer! Barely got a hello, the manicure felt rushed and painful. There were 2 builders downstairs (where the manicure takes place) literally right behind me, banging, drilling, sawing, talking, the whole time I was there. There was dust everywhere and it was horrible – the girl getting her nails done next to me couldn’t stop coughing the whole time… I get that sometimes building work needs to happen but it was literally right behind us and bizarrely, the manicurist didn’t even acknowledge it!!! Not even a ‘sorry about the noise/dust’!! She spent the whole manicure watching the builders rather than focusing on what she was doing. When she was filing my nails, she wasn’t looking, and spent most of the time filing the tips of my fingers! Ouch! I had grown my nails but she filed them right down, so roughly as well – I genuinely nearly walked out at this point as she was taking no care whatsoever. She pulled off my skin when doing my cuticles which then bled and was really sore (I did get an apology for this). Then, when she cleaned behind my nails, she was either pushing too hard or the tool was too sharp, as it was painful and 4 of my fingers were sore to the touch for days afterwards. When it came to the painting – she did the base coat for both of my hands, then the colour for one of my hands… then said oh sorry I should have buffed the nail. She then took off all the nail varnish and started right over form the base coat again. I am pleased she rectified the problem as the nails did need buffing, but she should have done it in the first place! I usually see a manicure as a treat but with the dust and banging I could not wait to leave this one, so having to watch my varnish be removed and re done was just another thing wrong! The finish was very average. The colour was lovely, but the second coat of colour was applied lower than the first so it didn’t look very professional. There were several air bubbles and I had a few chips after the first day. Generally have been really happy with manicures booked through Treatwell but would definitely recommend against going here based on my experience. I left feeling frustrated, ripped off and with a banging headache. Didn’t feel like a valued customer at all as the manicurist was extremely disinterested (well, she was interested in the builders…). Really really disappointing. 1 star – but only because the colour was nice and you can’t put 0 stars.
