About
Karen came to the world of massage / alternative therapies back in 2006. What started out being a hobby and learning for self-interest was to eventually lead to a career change.
She has studied Anatomy, Physiology, Massage (including Therapeutic, Pregnancy, Infant Massage, Hot Stone, On-Site and Indian Head). She has also studied: Trigger Point Therapy, Cupping & Gua Sha. Karen even started training as a Doula until she found The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®.
Initially taking the Self Care course (level 1) in 2008, here she experienced the amazing results of this modality first hand, a month later she attended the *Professional Course (level 2) closely followed by *Certification , *Advanced Pregnancy, *Spirtitual Healing and Teacher Training in this modality.
Karen is passionate about The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® and is qualified to practice and teach the course that inspired her so much: level 1 “Self Care Course”.

In 2014 Karen retired from her day job (an Executive Assistant) to concentrate on her studies. Two years later she graduated from the Northern College of Acupuncture with a BSc Hons in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture.
From the summer of 2016 to Feb 2018 Karen recharged her batteries by taking a well-deserved break and spent a lot of precious time with her puppy Koda a beautiful GoldenDoodle.
In Feb 2018 Karen started Copper Woman, a health care clinic in the Blackhall area of Edinburgh, where she teaches and practices massage & acupuncture.
A life-long learner, Karen has recently qualified to practice Oncology Acupuncture and hopes to support those who have had their lives touched by cancer.
