great treatment spoiled by 2 small children with their nanny. would have liked to have been given the option to cancel when my treatment is at the same time as someone with kids. left with a headache at the constant noise rather then pampered and relaxed
I’ve been to Color Riot in Shoreditch and it was a brilliant experience. Tinu, who owns the business, is great! So I was surprised to find that my experience at the Fitzrovia branch was so different. The salon is a tiny room at the back of a massage parlour, which had all its lights off when I arrived. There was no one in there and no obvious signage to tell you where to go. It felt like some sort of dodgy set up. When I finally found my way to the small room, the air was so full of fumes from alI the products being used, I immediately felt bad for staff - there’s no way they’d be able to avoid headaches at the end of a day breathing in those fumes all day. My manicurist was very sweet but spoke hardly any English and did not understand what I was asking for. I had selected half moon nail art on the website, and yet she didn’t seem to know what that meant. She recommended a colour combination that she conveyed would be best, but the colours were so similar you couldn’t tell them apart! The other manicurist in the room then recommended the first colour I’d chosen but had been persuaded not to get! The half moons were wonky and lumpy and I had to keep pointing that out (without really knowing if the manicurist understood me), and the colour ran slightly. I also had to file my nails myself when I got home as there were sharp points where the varnish had dried inconsistently. I love the colour and overall look, but I’m unhappy with the details of it. Having said all of this, I’ve had a great experience at the shoreditch branch before, and I would recommend that one to a friend.
I really love the overall look of my nails, but the finish wasn't the best with a lot of top coat build up towards the sides which has since chipped off and taken some of the colour with it.
