I was advised two weeks prior by a male member of their staff to come for a total stripping, then re-colour, this did not happen. Despite that I accepted this would cost more however this treatment never took place, equally no patch test was never completed either.
A new colour was placed over my existing color by Lena (I believe that's her name, apologies if I have gotten that wrong). I selected a lighter colour but this was not what was used, my short hair was dyed for 45 minutes (since learned that's 20 mins too much).
When the treatment ended I was left with extremely, almost black hair and Lena informed me she did not proceed with the lighter colour we selected together but went for darker tones.
We then had to bleach my hair, in order to try to get it lighter this did not work and my hair proceeded later to go red on top and orange at the back.
I was booked in for a colour and cut but no cut took place. I was advised by Lena to go home and use a clarifying shampoo. As this would strip the colour over the next week.
In essence it went totally wrong, I was encouraged to leave and take care of it yourself.
My hair was worse off after the treatment then when I arrived. I was also asked "are you on a TreatWell" and I felt that was why I was rushed out in the end, but never asked if I wanted to pay more to fix this treatment.
I have since gone to an amazing colourist, who has had to shave most the back of my hair, strip my hair, restyle it and re-colour it and that cost me a further 100 pounds. He informed me that my hair should have been dyed for no longer than 20 to 25 minutes and that a very dark brown with strong red undertones had been selected because no striping had taken place and it will be 6 to 8 weeks for my hair to be in a position for proper repair.
Overall this visit via TreatWell was a total disaster and I will never return to this salon. It may simply be thay they don't style and colour men's hair very often ? However there appears to be a lack of communication between the people booking you in and those doing the actual work.
