The massage overall was good. My only criticism would be that oil was not used for the massage as you cannot have it in pregnancy and this I understand the body butter that was used was lovely but the masseuse had to keep topping up her hands and sometimes the cream went on very cold which wasn't overly relaxing. Surely there is an alternative to aromatherapy oil that could be used instead. Especially for the scalp massage, body butter in your hair is just not great! None of these grievances are to do with the masseuse Sam, she was great and very thorough of the places I told her I was having some pain or tightness.
Have been here for a wax before, the treatment depends on the technician - I’ve had good and bad results! They’re all very professional though, the spa is pretty clean and the price is great.
I regularly have pedicures at champneys and clearly think that the treatment is good value for money as I return on a monthly basis. However, my most recent visit was somewhat disappointing and I have come away thinking that I have wasted my money which is such a shame. The lady that did my treatment was new to the team, and I tried my best to be patient with her and not make a fuss. Ultimately, in the end I had to ask her to tidy up two of the nails and I wasn’t really pleased with her second attempt but I was too embarrassed to say anything.
Listening to this member of staff complain about having to work on a weekend, after paying £40 for a pedicure on my day off was less than conducive to a relaxing experience.
The other colleagues in the spa were professional as ever and it is thanks to them that I will consider revisiting in the future.
