The hotel was wonderful perfect 4 girlie relaxation weekend. We did have some difficulty with staff who said we looked threatening upon entering the venue which we found really offensive because they made this assumption clearly on the way we looked. Other then that it was a divine weekend because we chose not to take the looks and comments to heart as we had paid our money just like every1 else
This was a great deal and we enjoyed it. The room was excellent and the spa was great and the staff was so friendly and with an extra bonus we could look at the Mercedes World race course. We enjoyed every moment of our trip.
Overall, a smart hotel & good value for the deal we got - not bad, but let down by minor things which one feels could easily be rectified. Good points: - Smart rooms with robes, slippers, etc & lovely toiletries (White Company). - Good view (of the Mercedes test track) from room. - Dinner in restaurant was nicely presented and very tasty. - Good choice for breakfast, even if you went shortly before they finished. - Good gym facilities for a hotel of this size. - V speedy at returning lost property (stupidly left something in pocket of robe!). Slight negatives: - The afternoon tea was average at best - prosecco was fine, scone was nice, but cakes were dry and one small pot of tea between two (with no offer of a top-up) felt mean (at the end I was still thirsty!). - The spa told us a closing time for certain facilities, but then asked us to leave 15 mins before the quoted time. - Staff were generally very helpful, but at times got distracted or were a little random. - Atmosphere was very quiet - no buzz, even on Sat night. Perhaps not helped by the bar/restaurant being on the ground floor (they were also cold & drafty).
We loved our stay at Brooklands. The hotel was v impressive and had a flying theme. It was unbelievably clean and appeared new! The food was out of this world. the breakfast had everything you could imagine, including freshly squeezed carrot juice! You could have cooked, cereals, yoghurt with fresh fruit and coulis and pastries, as well as coffee and toast. The cream tea was top quality and had a tower of different cakes, mousse and scones as well as a glass of fizzy!! The spa was v classy and I particularly loved the outdoor hot tub where you could watch the cars on the skid track opposite. we also nearly fell asleep on the amazing warm water beds in the meditation room - how inventive. I could have stayed there all day - bliss! the only down side was that the steam and sauna were in separate changing rooms. They were fantastic but I didn't see anyone else using them at all and I wondered if that was because they wanted to spend the time with thier partners rather than disappearing into the changing rooms. Overall we cannot recommend this venue enough and we will definitely be heading back asap.
Hi, this is my second review for this hotel as have just been back with some girlfriends (as the deal was such good value). We tried to use the spa/jacuzzi facilities but it was too busy, so spent the afternoon in the bar with our afternoon teas and a pile of mags. Sat night we ventured into "Waheybridge" and had dinner at the Hand & Spear - which was overpriced for waht it was. Headed onto the Red Bar - which was fine and then back to the hotel for a final drink in the bar. The offer was fantastic value and the hotel is lovely it is just not in a very pretty location (unless you are a car enthusiast).
