Been going here for the past decade, usually see Liam but was told he was off sick and won’t be returning. I still made an appointment. Gwen(Gw) coloured my hair & Michelle(M) cut it. Gw asked for my surname before colouring & returned with a mixture. I asked Gw and M how Liam was & they both bad mouthed him, which I found very unprofessional & made me uncomfortable.
Once home my husband said that my hair looked really dark. I looked in the mirror and realised that the colour of my hair was not the colour I wanted. I called and explained to Gw that the colour was not right. Gw was very defensive & rude, & said I should come in so that she could see it. I explained that I was tight for time as I was going away soon, we agreed that I would pop in Monday.
Monday I went in but Gw wasn’t there, after we had agreed. Instead I was faced with LeighAnn(L), Gemma(Ge) nail technician and Jess(J) a junior. I explained the situation & they were extremely rude and very hostile towards me. I didn’t understand why Ge & J were getting involved as the matter didn’t require 3 people to investigate.
Whilst there, they all were in and out the kitchen asking me questions & then going in the kitchen to gossip. As L was looking for my colour card I saw that there was another customer in the shop left sat in the chair waiting with wet hair. The shop phone rang Ge answered, she said “yea she’s here now in the shop L’s dealing with her”
It turns out that my colour card was stored under my maiden name and not my married name which was the name I gave to Gw. Gw could not have looked at my card before making my colour mixture as I didn’t give her my maiden name. L said that my colour card has 3colours and on inspection of my hair, confirmed that Gw only mixed 2colours. So Gw didn’t do her job properly and was negligent.
Requesting a refund, they ALL said no, Ge said “we’re not going to give you a refund if we can rectify it”. I didn’t have time to rectify it as I was going away and it shouldn’t have to be rectified it should have been right the first time, Gw made a mistake. L agreed but said that I would need to speak to Gw.
I called back and asked for Gw, I could hear Gw explain the situation to Jane(Ja) and Ja replied “don’t give her a refund, she’ll only go and spend it somewhere else”. Gw came on the phone, she said because it can be rectified she will not give me a refund. I explained that I wanted my hair coloured for my holiday so I don’t have time to get it rectified. She kept refusing. I said you’ve made a mistake you didn’t even look at my colour card before colouring my hair. Your mistake warrants a refund. I went on to say that I’ve been going to your salon for the last 10years, I bring my son to get his hair cut and I even came to get my hair done on my wedding day. I asked, do you not value your customers? She replied “of course we value our customers, ok I’ll give you a refund”. I asked for a refund over the phone and she said “no it can’t be done over the phone unless you give me your PIN and I don’t want your PIN thank you very much”. I didn’t offer her my PIN so there was no need to talk to me like that.
I went into the shop and got a refund. 10days later, my bank statement showed they gave me a refund but the same amount was taken out. I called my bank and they said the refund went in but the credit was reversed on the same day. They said the credit may have been reversed manually as there was an error in the spelling of ‘Bojangles’. I called Gw and explained the situation, she very quickly said “come in I’ll give you another refund”. She didn’t dispute it or question it at all which I thought was suspicious.
Everyone makes mistakes but it’s how you deal with it that matters. All the staff were extremely rude and unprofessional, I will not be returning to this salon again. Not once did anyone, at any point apologise to me. Not only was the service bad but they also wasted my time, making numerous visits and calls trying to sort this out.
They one of the best hairdresser as im in a wheelchair. They make me feel really welcome, and they treat me just like they do to the other customers.
Also both times I've been there they havr done my hair the right colour and cut.
All the staff are kind, and always made sure you are ok. All your staff are wonderful. And do excellent job xx
Sam, coloured, cut and blow dried my hair and I left there feeling amazing, my hair was a mess when I first arrived, also the young lady training did an amazing wash out and shampoo. Will definately be going back, thankyou so much.
