Had an absolutely amazing experience returning to The Athenaeum. Wonderful facilities and attentive staff, we were even given an extra (and most delicious) treat for returning! Treatments were top notch and left my partner and I in a state of bliss. We'll definitely be coming back!
My second visit to the Athenaeum Spa and restaurant in 2 months with my daughter. We will definitely be going back again. Ambience excellent and therapists professional, welcoming and give fantastic treatments. The spa is simple but private and has everything you need - steam room, sauna, hot tub, nice products, welcoming glass of fizz - along with fluffy robes, towels and slippers.
The restaurant is excellent. Would highly recommend.
The venue was lovely, very clean, great products used, spa itself was also very nice.
The therapist was polite and professional, but the massage itself was much lighter than I expected, even for a relaxing treatment. The pressure never quite reached the muscles, so it didn’t feel particularly effective or relaxing for me.
The facial was fine, had a nice glow after, but unfortunately our access to the spa was booked in after (not by choice) so all products had to be washed away.
The spa day with treatment and dinner was great, my husband and myself felt great after, the staff were excellent and made you feel relaxed and special. The spa treatment was amazing felt so good after we had the detox wrap and massage which was Devine. The staff were very welcoming. Will definite go back at some point again. Would recommend for sure.
The receptionists were incredibly rude when we arrived - we overestimated how long it would take to get there so we arrived 20 mins early, and they made us feel so unwelcome for it. The original booking included prosecco but they made me upgrade my birthday gift and we didn’t actually get anything additional. The massage therapist was a delight and truly lovely but it just wasn’t a good massage at all. Just had my back stroked essentially for £145.
This was just so disappointing
