Got my Keratin treatment. The new hair one.
Just washed my after after 3 days and they are very smooth and straights.
The hairdresser was very professional , a bit rough I would say. He could have been a bit more delicate with my hairs but that is fine. Iam happy with the result.
The salon, having recently been refurbished, looked light, bright and airy. Irina washed and blow dried my hair and did a great job, quick and professional, very good value for money.
Just to be clear, I have fine, straight hair that is difficult to cut because every little mistake shows. Most stylists cannot cut my hair correctly. Anthony may be a great stylist with other types of hair.
Here it is...
Pros: This place has all the right things to be a fantastic hair salon. The staff were really nice, warm, friendly and talkative. I was attended to immediately and shampooed by the person at reception. They brought me tea and were always smiling.
Cons: My Appointment was rescheduled 15 mins later and since I scheduled on the same day, I was not made aware of this even when checking in at my original time. Consequentially, I sat with wet hair after being shampooed for 15-20 mins while Anthony finished slowly with her hair but mostly telling a story to one if his regulars. I let things slide and pass it off as being attentive. The receptionist didn't think to offer a tea while I was waiting there, only 45 mins after I arrived.
Anthony did not look at my hair before it was shampooed to know what my hair is like, as my previous stylists have done. Once I'm in Anthony's chair, I show him pictures of what I would like. These ideas were a complete change from what I went in with, but I know my hair can do the short style I wanted because I've done it before. I specifically said that my fine, straight hair would need some texture on the sides so it doesn't fall flat everyday. I said it in many ways... Could we make it less heavy here? Sure! Make sure it can have body please? Of course! Can we give it some texture so it doesn't fall flat? Yes, I know what you mean!
But it was not done. In fact, after 1hour30mins of lots of chatting (which was nice, but at times I felt obligated to), I realised that for my cut he's not going to dry it and go over it dry to give it texture and see how it lays dry, which every seasoned stylist will do with a short ladies cut. He just kept spraying it to keep it wet and try to get the blunt ends perfect (neither I nor the pictures said anything about a blunt cut).
When I realised he had a different vision than myself and went with that vision I knew that he was not skilled enough to be confident in giving me what I asked for. He did the best he could with his skills. That's why he gets 3 stars, because at the end of the day the cut is not bad... I was just hoping for fabulous. I'm still looking for my stylist in London.
The salon was in a lovely location and was presented really nicely! However there was no music or anything playing so I kind of sat in silence whilst getting my hair done. The lady who did my hair was very nice and made nice conversation. However for £63 I wasn't really impressed with the quality or outcome of my hair considering it was supposed to be done by a 'Senior'. The highlights I had done weren't the right tone that I usually have for my hair, and it didn't really take very well at the top of my head so she had to put extra die on and I had to sit there for another 10 minutes with straight bleach on my head! This would've been acceptable for say £40 but for the extra money I paid I was quite disappointed.
The haircut was very quick and I wasn't satisfied that it was done with precision. The end result looks fine but I feel it could have been better if more questions were asked and more time was spent on the layering
