As soon as salons open we’re getting this 2021 nail trend

Published on 24 February 2021 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

Salons in England are set to reopen (provided everything is safe), which means our dreaming about the treatments we’re booking has stepped up a notch. We’re already dead set on the haircut we’re getting, now for the nails.

We’ve been loving the modern take on the classic French manicure for a while now and it’s not going anywhere any time soon. We’ve seen it on Gigi Hadid, Chiara Ferragni, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – not to mention all over Instagram.

What makes this 90s classic a modern fave? A few little personalised twists. Switch up with shape from round to almond or square (short, medium, or long, they all look darn cool), and swap the traditional white varnish tip for a colour. Corals, pastels, metallics, or neons are currently the favourites.

Here’s some inspo.
