These nail colours will be everywhere this Autumn

12 September 2021 by Beth Ryan

And, just like that, Summer is pretty much over. Holidays, long days, and back garden barbecues are feeling like a distant memory (which probably isn’t helped by the fact we had approx. 1 week of real sunshine this whole season). Honestly though, we’re not mad about the oncoming of Autumn. Sweater weather, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and Halloween? Yes please.

Plus, it’s an excuse to revamp our wardrobes, hair, and beauty – and what’s not to love about that? This season in nails, we’re loving muted colours with neutral overtones, as well as unexpected brights and pops of colour. Here are our picks for Autumn’s hottest nail colours.

    1 Mauve

Is it pink? Is it taupe? Nope, it’s something even better in between – mauve. This purple-pink shade is the ultimate transition colour between summer and autumn, and we love it.

    2 Silver and Chrome

Think 'Transformers', but make it chic. High-gloss chrome is the way to wear silver nails this season.

    3 Blue grey

If you look at the sky at the minute, you’ll know exactly what shade we’re talking about. Yep, whilst cloudy grey-blue might be a tad depressing above our heads, it’s a killer look on our nails.

    4 Mocha

Coffee, mocha, or milk chocolate – rich, warm mocha notes are having a major moment this Autumn. The perfect pick-me-up, minus the caffeine.

    5 Cobalt blue

Cobalt blue has been all over the catwalks of Fashion Week, and now it’s taking over nail feeds too. We’re loving this much needed injection of colour.

    6 English green

Green on your nails was already a hit, but this Autumn we're wearing it darker, deeper and warmer. Think: old Jaguars, Tiffany lamps and pine trees. Bliss.

    7 Classic red

Red is always a classic, and it works as a perfect mood booster for Autumn. Bonus? You’ll perfectly complement the Autumn leaves when they start to fall.

    8 Mustard and Ochre

Anything 70s is so in right now, so we’re loving these 70s inspired mustardy shades of yellow and ochre.

    9 Hot pink

Hold on to the summer for a *little* longer with bright fuchsia and hot pink shades. Perfect for adding some spice to your autumn neutrals and darker outfits.

    10 Orange

From burnt orange to terracotta – this colour works perfect in combo with your (slowly fading) summer tan.
