    Makeup artist approved brow boosters

Published on 21 March 2016 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

If your brows could talk, these are the products they would ask you to buy. Tried and tested by some of the world’s leading brow and makeup artists they’re proven to tame, define and even thicken on demand. With brands including Charlotte Tilbury, Burberry, Shavata, Hi Brow and Maybelline,  it’s easy to slot at least one of these little beauties into your regular brow maintenance regime. Did we mention they’re idiot proof?

    • 1 Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift, £22.50

Is there anything Charlotte Tilbury can’t do? The makeup artist to pretty much every A-lister going has pulled it out of the bag once more with her Three Way Shape, Lift and Shade Tool. With a grooming brush to tidy and eliminate excess colour at one end, a highlighter and a handy  angled pencil at the other end, it’s about as multi-tasking as a product can get. Tilbury was inspired by the supermodel brows of the nineties and wanted to share the power of their eyebrows with the world.

      Best for: the mousy brow

    • 2 Shavata Brow Strengthener, £15

Overplucking, we’ve all been there. Who knew big brows would be all the rage fifteen years later anyway? Turning sparse, gappy brows into voluptuous arches is something of a challenge but it can be done. Shavata Brow Strengthener is one of those products most makeup artists have in their kit and hand out to models in need of a brow boost. Made with organic castor oil to stimulate hair growth, this product comes in a clear tube with a roller ball applicator making it easy to apply on the go. Massage it into your brows morning and night for a few weeks to see an impressive increase in volume.

      Best for: the over-plucked brow

    • 3 Maybelline Brow Drama Crayon, £5.99

Sometimes the smallest things have the biggest impact. Compact in size, this teeny yet powerful pencil has a smooth, waxy texture designed to give your brows some serious oomph. Use it to fill in thinner brows, or inject a guts into lacklustre arches. Application is all the better for its short, almost stumpy pencil body.

      Perfect for: the thinning brow
