Introducing WTF (#wetriedfirst – see what we did there?) a series in which we demystify lesser known and up and coming treatments. We try them, we test them, and we take you with us every step of the way. Last month we sent our Beauty Content Editor Rebecca to try out a lash lift at High Definition Beauty Boutique, an eyelash volumizing treatment designed to make your lashes appear longer, thicker and darker – and the best part? It can last more than 2 months! This is a treatment you won’t want to miss…
-
1 Step 1
For the first step of a lash lift treatment, your therapist will thoroughly cleanse the eyes and remove all makeup to ensure they're working off of a clean canvas.
-
2 Step 2
The next step is to apply eye pads to your lower lids and lash shields to your upper lids. These act as the curved base to sculpt your lashes to.
-
3 Step 3
After these are carefully secured, a lash adhesive solution is applied to the upper lashes, securing them snugly to the shield.
-
4 Step 4
Once your lashes are in place, your therapist then applies the lift solution and leaves it on for 6-8 minutes. This product breaks down the bonds between the keratin of the hair, allowing them to create a more exaggerated curl.
-
5 Step 5
Once the lift solution has set, your therapist gently removes it from the lashes, then finally adds the fix solution, which sets the hair into its new shape. Think of it just like a mini perm for your eyelashes!
-
6 Step 6
After a few minutes, the fix solution is removed, and a tint is applied to both your top and bottom lashes.
-
7 Step 7
Once the tint has set, your therapist removes the dye and lash shields, then thoroughly cleanses both eyes to remove all excess residue.
-
8 Step 8
And voila! Super curled and voluminous lashes that can last up to two months! They're so plumped and natural looking that you may want to ditch the mascara entirely…
