Is a lash lift and tint worth it?

Published on 2 July 2018 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

The words ‘pay day’ send shivers of pleasure down our spines. Reasons we go to work:

1) So we can fork out for 6am gym classes (however we feel at 5.15 when the alarm goes off)

2) So we can justify buying a new foundation tint each time there’s a 2 degree change in temperature

3) So we can fund our addiction to peanut butter

oh and 4) you know, to pay bills.

After all that, whatever’s left over needs to be really worth it. We’re putting the latest eyelash craze under the microscope to see if it’s worth our pennies: lift and tint.

  • 1 Your lashes on a really good day

Lift and tint showcases your natural lashes at their very best – and they still look natural. They're slightly curled and the lift gives an illusion of extra length. They'll open up your eyes, and the tint enhances their colour. Not to be confused with lash extensions, which actually add extra length, rather than just giving the illusion of it.

If you like, the treatment's a bit like a push-up bra for your eyes. But unlike a bra, you can keep the lashes for up to eight weeks.

  • 2 A make-up-free morning

OK – maybe not entirely make-up free. But you can go easy on the mascara if you're short on time, as you'll already be half-way there. As for eyelash curlers, you shouldn't need to use them at all. It's about time we cleared out our eye make-up collection anyway. (If you want, you can still wear mascara on top. Just avoid it 24 hours after your treatment.)

  • 3 Up to two months of bountiful lashes

This treatment will last six to eight weeks, and the effect lessens gradually. So you won't wake up one morning and suddenly find your lashes have gone back to normal – it'll drop evenly. Okay, pay day is soon right? Erm…

With Treatwell, you can book beauty online at all your favourite salons – simple, hassle-free, and you can do it on the go. Discover amazing salons in your area.

FAQs

How long does a lash lift and tint last?

A lash lift and tint lasts between six and eight weeks. The effect fades gradually, so your lashes won’t suddenly go back to normal—results drop off evenly over time.

Can you wear mascara after a lash lift and tint?

Yes, you can still wear mascara on top of your lifted and tinted lashes. It’s best to avoid mascara for the first 24 hours after your treatment to maintain the best results.

What is the main difference between a lash lift and lash extensions?

A lash lift showcases your natural lashes with a curl and tint, creating an illusion of extra length while keeping a natural look. Lash extensions actually add length to your lashes rather than just enhancing what you already have.

Do you need to use an eyelash curler after a lash lift and tint?

You typically won’t need to use an eyelash curler after treatment. The lift creates a natural curl for your lashes, making your morning routine much simpler.

How does a lash lift and tint affect your morning makeup routine?

A lash lift and tint reduces the need for mascara and eliminates the use of eyelash curlers. Your lashes already appear curled and tinted, so getting ready in the morning is easier and faster.
