HydraFacial is the treatment we’ll all be obsessed with in 2022

17 December 2021 by Beth Ryan

Already huge across the pond, a fave of US celebs and influencers alike, and (hoorah) finally making its way across to blighty – the HydraFacial is primed and ready to be the next big thing when it comes to skincare.

And honestly? We can see why. It’s more powerful than a classic facial – but not as radical as injections. And, of course, it promises exceptional results. As beauty addicts and devout skincare followers – we just had to know more.

    1 So, what is it?

The term ‘HydraFacial’ actually refers to a patented technology – it’s a facial treatment that uses a specialised machine (kind of like a pen) to cleanse and hydrate the skin. It lasts about 30 minutes, during which the machine is passed over the skin – sucking up a tonne of dirt, bacteria, pollution, and other nasty stuff that the skin has accumulated (incredibly satisfying if you’ve ever seen a vid of it on TikTok). Then, a powerful cocktail of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid is projected onto the epidermis. Sounds pretty intense, we know, but it’s actually quick, painless, and promises amazing results.

    2 Who's it for?

Great news (!!) – from oily and acne-prone to dry and flaky (and everything in between) – the HydraFacial is suitable for all skin types. From the first session, it adapts to the needs and concerns of the skin to boost health and radiance. It’s particularly effective at visibly reducing fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne, visible or enlarged pores, and even blackheads due to its purifying and extracting action.

    3 The process

The treatment is carried out in three stages: cleansing, purifying (unclogging), and hydration. To start, the skin is cleansed. The HydraFacial machine is then passed over the skin, extracting all of the impurities and dead cells from the epidermis. The tool essentially acts as a superficial peel to deep clean the pores, then adds in a solution of super serums and peptides to the skin to boost, hydrate, and address any skin concerns you might have.

    4 The results

After a quick 30 min session, the skin feels squeaky clean, after having been purified of dirt, blackheads, and bacteria. The result? A perfectly hydrated and nourished complexion, refined skin texture, and all without redness or side effects. Sounds pretty fantastic, if you ask us. Anyone else can’t wait to try it?
