Fighting the frizz just got a whole lot easier

Published on 4 May 2018 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

If you’re a serial straightener or a constant fighter of frizz, booking in for a Brazilian Blow Dry is the game changing treatment you need in your life right now. How do we know? Because we tested it of course! Designed to smooth out unruly hair and cut your regular styling time in half, this proven-to-work treatment leaves you with shiny, bone straight hair for up to 4 months. But don’t just take our word for it – we sent our frizz-prone friend Hanna to Made in Surbiton salon in London to give it a spin and the results speak for themselves…

    • 1 Step 1

The beginning of your appointment should always start with a quick consultation with your stylist so they can asses your hair type and get you started on your journey to super sleek hair. They should also be clear about your expectations for the treatment; for example, if you have natural curls, your hair won't air dry to a pin straight texture – you'll still have voluminous body if you air dry it, but it should seriously reduce your stylist time and make caring for your hair a lot more manageable.

    • 2 Step 2

Once your stylist has answered all your burning questions, they'll wash your hair and give you a quick rough dry to help prepare your hair for the keratin solution.

    • 3 Step 3

Next, the solution is applied. Ideal for just about any hair type, it's made up of a liquid keratin formula that bonds to your hair creating a protective layer around each strand.

    • 4 Step 4

Going from root to tip, your whole head will be covered in the solution and left for roughly half an hour to set. Once applied, it seals around the cuticle of the hair, diminishing frizz and providing protection against external damage.

    • 5 Step 5

Once the solution has fully absored, your stylist will give it another quick blow with the hairdryer to ensure it's all dried and ready for the final step.

    • 6 Step 6

And finally, the all important straightening session! The heat from the iron is what seals in the keratin – the more heat applied, the straighter it will be so you can really tailor the finish to exactly how you want it.

    • 7 Step 7

Once the straightening is complete, you'll see results straight away. Your hair will be left hydrated, frizz-free and more resilient to styling. Sign us up!

    FAQs

How long does a Brazilian Blow Dry last?

You can expect your Brazilian Blow Dry results to last for up to 4 months. This treatment is designed to keep your hair smooth, shiny, and frizz-free for an extended period, making hair care much more manageable during this time.

What should you expect during a Brazilian Blow Dry appointment?

Your appointment starts with a consultation to assess your hair type and set expectations. The process involves washing, rough drying, applying a keratin solution, letting it set for about 30 minutes, blow drying, and finishing with straightening to seal the product in.

Does a Brazilian Blow Dry work for all hair types?

A Brazilian Blow Dry is suitable for just about any hair type. Even if you have natural curls, the treatment can reduce frizz and make your hair easier to style, though your hair may still have body if air dried rather than being pin straight.

What results can you expect immediately after the treatment?

You’ll notice hydrated, frizz-free, and more resilient hair right away after a Brazilian Blow Dry. The treatment leaves your hair looking shiny and reduces the time you need to style it daily.

Why is keratin used in a Brazilian Blow Dry?

Keratin creates a protective layer around each hair strand, helping to eliminate frizz and guard against external damage. The heat from straightening seals in the keratin for longer-lasting, smoother hair.
