There’s a serious 90s renaissance going on right now – it’s influencing everything from fashion to hairstyles. And now nails. Beyonce and Bella Hadid have both been sporting the classic French mani, need I say more?
2019’s take on the French mani is cool enough to make you forget even your schooldays’ most tragic DIY-jobs – ultra-thin, wobbly tips *shudders*. Switch up the colours and nail shape, or add nail stickers, for a contemporary twist.
While a bright white mani looks great with deeper skin tones, a milky shade is perfect when tans fade (or if you’re scared of that tipp-ex look). Layer for an opaque colour or keep it sheer for a more natural finish.
Make a bold statement with your hands – granted, nail art isn’t as hardcore as knuckle tattoos but at least it’s mum-friendly. Choose your words wisely (10 letters max), pick a font and let your nails do the talking.
We’re already huge fans of marble bathrooms (chic) and marble cakes (delicious) so marble nails were bound to be a hit. If you like it classic, use white for the accent colour, or go with contrast colours and metallics for something different.
There are two types of people in this world. People who get mani’s religiously and those who don’t. If you don’t, negative space nails are for you. Get a design on the top half of your nail – incorporating your natural nail – without having to worry about regrowth. Revolutionary.
6 nail trends you need to try for Autumn 2019
I know that officially autumn doesn’t start until the 23rd of September but, look, Bake Off has started and pumpkin spice lattes are back which means that summer is over. Sorry, but it’s true. While the same cannot be said for dark nights, we’re welcoming autumn’s nail trends with open arms.

Maybe it’s because summer never really began or the fact that we’ve been wearing joggers pretty much exclusively for the last 6 months, but this year, we’re really darn excited for autumn. If you’re not feeling it, a scroll through these autumnal nails will probably help. Summer was all about bold nails (the brighter the better) but this autumn’s trends are much softer. Autumn’s signature tones - mustards, burnt oranges and reds - are a no-brainer, every year. Mixing them with earthy pastels, warm nudes and rich jewel tones (AKA, a dream) keep them on-trend for 2020. Add a matte…View the board
2019 has been a pretty great year for beauty trends. We’ve relived the 90s, gone in on the glitter and rhinestones (thanks to Euphoria) and made our brows bushier than ever. There are only 50 days left of this year - and decade (!) - but it’s not over yet. We’ve lined up a whole host of emerging nail trends to try before the year is out (and into 2020). Pastel colours have always gotten kind of a bad rep in terms of style. Tbh, these shades seemed to be reserved for either newborns or the Queen, with no in-between. Recently, though, pastel tones have become a summer staple. From pastel gingham dresses to sherbet-coloured sweater vests, soft-hued tones of dreamy pastels are e-ver-y-where. It’s no surprise then that one of the biggest nail trends of the year is following suit. Pastel nails popped up as a major trend last summer - *flashback to us dreaming of pastel manis whilst stuck in lockdown last year*. This summer though, pastels are…View the board
