I would like to start dermaplaning, does anyone know where to get training? and is it essential?

I have been dermaplaning here in the United States for close to fifteen years. I learned the procedure as a Medical Esthetician working in a physicians office. Dermaplaning is something that is not taught in beauty schools, neither in the U.S. nor the U.K. It is a procedure that was taught thru a specific skin care line. And, is not taught unless your physician's office carries the line. Dermaplaning was initially designed as a pre-treatment to a specific chemical peel. It was designed to allow the acid, to penetrate into the skin more effectively.
There are those of us that are so proficient in dermaplaning, that we offer the procedure as a treatment in itself. It has become extremely popular, as it not only removes surface cellular debris, but also unwanted facial hair. It also improves the texture and tone of the skin. Afterwards, the skin is soft, smooth and make-up goes on flawlessly!
I am so proficient that I shape the eyebrows and dermaplane the entire face and neck of my clients. I have even dermaplaned the arms of clients that have excessively dry skin in the winter. And, I dermaplane my own face and regularly clean-up and shape my brows by dermaplaning.
In all my years as an Esthetician, I find that dermaplaning is one of the most effective procedures that we can offer. Once done, anything that you do for the skin, after, becomes more effective. Even something as simple as applying moisturizer.....it penetrates better!
