I think the therapist are not paying attension to what you want. Some people tint faster then others. It seems you need a quick tint and off. Make sure the therapist is clear what you are asking for.

It's all about timing, the longer the tint stays on, the darker the outcome will be! - My suggestion would be to go for several short applications (say 30 secs or so) and then gradually build the colour up... when you get to your desired colour, you will have a better idea of how long the tint needs to stay on for in future sessions. If it takes 4 applications to get the colour you want, you'll know for the future that the tint needs to stay on for no more than 2 mins.
The therapist is leaving the tint on for to long, some hair take colour faster then others, make sure you tell her you don't want them dark, the sooner she takes it off the better the results.

What colour are your eyebrows to start with?

Hi Your therapist is either mixing the brown tint with black or leaving your tint on for too long. It would be best if you ask the therapist to do a quick tint with a brown tint only - this means that she needs to put tint on one brow then quickly tint the 2nd eyebrow, as soon as she has finished applying tint to the 2nd brow, she should immediately be removing the tint from the 1st brow and then the 2nd brow - with no rest time inbetween. You may find this a bit pale so you could ask the therapist to add a little bit of grey to the brown tint, as long as they apply and remove the tint immediately you should find you will get the colour you are looking for. I really hope this helps :o)

It sounds like your therapist is leaving the tint on to develop for too long. Eye brows tint very quickly, so it's a case of brushing on and wiping off quickly until the desired effect is achieved.

Your professional should try using Taupe. And, as others have suggested, should not be leaving the tint on for very long. I leave my tints on for just a short time, check the color and if I need to, reapply for another short period of time. It is easier to reapply until the desired color is reached rather than to leave the product on too long, and end up with an un-desired darker finish.

Some brown tints can turn orangey so some therapists add a touch of blk to avoid that from occuring, your brows may be a little darker the first day or so but not black if you have requested Brown I would clarify that brown is written on your client card if not ask it to be highlighted for the future.

I agree that you need to discuss more of your requirements with your therapist, and ask to see the various tints so that you are both thinking the same.Colour can be seen differently by each individual, and I know hairdressers get this problem a lot.It usually means that communication is the problem, not the products.I am sure the therapist would prefer to have the opportunity to get this right.

They must be using a brown on your brows as a normal brown comes out dark brown/black they need to use a light brown not a brown but not all salons will stock this they prob stock basic colours brown black blue, so just go for a light brown as a actual light brown will not go black. Hope this helps :)

The main problem with eyebrow tinting is that therapists tend to leave the tint on too long. If they keep coming out too dark they should reduce the time the tint is on..they can always do the process again until you get the required tint. The other point is are they mixing the tint correctly, is the tint in date??

I would recommend that you try a HD Brow treatment as the are various tint options available for various skin tones and hair colours. If you do decided to try ask the therapist to use the mid brown and grey for you.

it sounds like the tint has been left on too long. Most tints usually take only a minute to develop and the longer it is left on the darker the colour.

The therapist is leaving it on for too long, ask her to quickly tint then straight off x

They shouldn't as you can use a light brown tint colour that has no black in it xx

Hi, You will need to ask your therapist not to mix the brown with black. Ask if they can use just brown tint and they should be lighter. Sophie

Hi Mazza49, Most brown tints have an overly chesnut hue to them as a general rule and this normally comes out on the skin as a brown tint rather than a black. A much darker tint suggests dark brown. If it's a definite mid brown that is being used, why not ask your therapist if she can mix it with a grey to tone down the darkness. Greys are used in tinting to add a muted tone to a colour. If it is a true brown that is being used on you, you could ask your therapist for a shorter development time. This does mean that your tint won't be as prominent for so long. But it might alleviate your problem. Some manufacturers of tint only have one brown but many good manufactureres (such as Refectocil) have 3 shades of brown, blonde, black, blue/black and even red. I hope this helps.
