Is teeth whitening safe for pregnancy?

As a dentist who regularly uses tooth whitening to treat his patients I would not recommend tooth whitening to a pregnant patient. There is no evidence to suggest it is harmful to the developing fetus but why risk it. wait until the baby is born and then have them whitened.
