Situated at Orchard Life Yoga Studio in Midgham, Starr Sports Massage specialises in therapeutic sports massage.

Although termed ‘Sports Massage’, the physiological and psychological benefits are by no means restricted to sports people alone. Anyone suffering from tight muscles, poor flexibility or posture, soft tissue dysfunction or stress can benefit from sports massage. It particularly helps the skin, muscles, lymphatic system, central nervous system, circulation, blood pressure, bones and joints, lungs, adipose tissue, abdominal organs, metabolism and the mind.

All treatments are carried out by owner Amy, an ex-professional dancer and actress, she came to the profession after developing an injury. A member of the Sports Massage Association with an up to date CRB, Amy participates in continuous professional development to ensure her skills are up to date. Recognising that each client is unique she will assess you pre and post-treatment in order to develop a bespoke treatment plan.

Treatments can be tailored to suit clients wishing to improve their sporting performance, aid injury recovery, or just wanting to relieve any aches and pains while relaxing.

Located on the A4 Bath Road between Newbury and Theale, they are within easy access to the M4, with ample parking outside the studio. Amy also runs additional clinics at The Physiotherapy Clinic and Neal's Yards Remedies in Newbury. All have free parking and are easily accessible.

Locating the venue

The massage therapy studio is located within a property about two minutes’ walk from Finchley Road Underground station (on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines). The postcode is NW6 3HU.

As you leave Finchley Road station, you will see a large branch of Waitrose slightly to your right. Walk past the front of the store to the end, and turn right onto Goldhurst Terrace. Walk alongside the row of shops which begins with a greengrocer’s called Natural Natural and ends with an estate agent’s called Rose and Co. Keeping the red pillar box at the junction to your right, walk down to the third property on the right hand side. Hands-On Sports Massage is located at number 6, at the top of the steps with a blue-grey door.

If you come via London Overground (Richmond to Stratford line), get off at Finchley Road and Frognal station, turn right and walk down Finchley Road. After a few minutes you will see Waitrose on your right. Follow the directions as above.

If you arrive by car, unfortunately there’s no free parking in front of the property where the massage studio is located until 10 pm Monday to Saturday, although you can park further down the road past the junction with Fairhazel Gardens after 6.30 pm.
