Welcome to Deborah Warden Massage & Acupuncture in Camberwell.

I’ve been working as a massage therapist and acupuncturist for over 15 years, and if there’s one thing all those years have taught me, it’s that a really good massage isn’t about following the same routine on every person who walks through the door.

Bodies are different. Some people arrive with a neck and shoulders that feel as though they’ve been set in concrete. Some have a lower back that has been grumbling for months, an old injury that keeps flaring up, or hips and legs that are tight from training. Others are exhausted, stressed, not sleeping properly and quite simply need an hour where somebody else takes over and looks after them.

That’s how I work.

My massage style is intuitive, confident and hands-on. I listen to what you tell me, but I’m also feeling what is happening underneath my hands and adapting the treatment as I go. I can work deeply when your muscles need it — I’m definitely not afraid to get stuck into those stubborn knots and niggles — but a good massage doesn’t have to hurt to be effective.

And if what you need is to switch your brain off, relax and have a wonderful full-body massage, you absolutely don’t need to arrive with something “wrong” with you either.

I offer deep tissue massage, therapeutic massage, pregnancy massage and my acupuncture & massage combination treatment. As a qualified acupuncturist, I have an additional understanding of pain, the body and acupuncture points, and when appropriate I can combine the two therapies in one treatment. It’s one of my favourite treatments for persistent tension, back and shoulder problems and those times when both your body and your nervous system feel completely frazzled.

Above all, I want you to leave feeling noticeably better than when you walked in — looser, calmer, more comfortable in your body and very glad you booked.

Nearest public transport

My clinic is at Cornerstone Studios, 1 Addington Square in Camberwell, South East London, close to Burgess Park.

Denmark Hill and Elephant & Castle are the nearest train connections, and the clinic is well served by buses including the 12, 35, 40, 45, 68, 171, 176, 185 and 468. Paid parking is also available locally if you’re coming by car.

The team

Hello, I’m Deborah.

I’m an experienced massage therapist and qualified acupuncturist with more than 15 years in clinical practice.

Alongside massage for everyday aches, pains, stress and muscular tension, I have extensive experience working with chronic pain and pregnancy, and I specialise clinically in fertility and women’s health.

I love massage and I’m a great believer that although you can teach somebody massage techniques, you can’t necessarily teach touch. I work very intuitively and I don’t give everyone the same massage. Pressure, pace and technique are adapted to your body and to what you need that day.

Sometimes that means proper deep work on a troublesome shoulder. Sometimes it means working through your back, hips and legs. Sometimes you need your whole body worked on and an hour in which nobody wants anything from you.

And yes, quite a few clients over the years have told me I have magic hands. I’m very happy to take that compliment.

What we like about the venue

  • Atmosphere: A beautiful, quiet and private treatment space in Camberwell where you can properly switch off. Warm, comfortable and relaxed rather than clinical or corporate.
  • Specialises in: Deep tissue massage, therapeutic massage, pregnancy massage and acupuncture & massage combination treatments. Particularly good for neck and shoulder tension, back pain, muscular tightness, old niggles, stress and general London-life wear and tear.
  • Treatment style: Personal rather than formulaic. Deborah combines more than 15 years of experience with confident, intuitive touch and adapts every treatment to the person on the table.
  • The extra touch: You’re being treated by someone who is both an experienced massage therapist and a qualified acupuncturist, so there is a much broader understanding of the body behind the treatment.

Active Care – Holistic Healing That Feels Right

At Active Care, we believe in helping your body heal the way it was meant to — naturally. We offer a thoughtful mix of deep tissue massage, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation, designed to get you moving, feeling better, and living without relying on medication.

We’ve created two welcoming spaces for you:

Old Street (Whitecross Street) – Our flagship clinic, right in the heart of Central London. Surrounded by good coffee, matcha spots, and a creative, aesthetic vibe — it's the perfect blend of calm and energy.

Essex Road, Palmers Green – Our North London location, based in a peaceful community with easy access for locals looking for trusted care closer to home.

The team:

Our team is passionate about creating treatments that are as individual as you are. For example, Barcsa has a rare gift for finding and easing tension — working with your body, not against it — so you leave feeling lighter, more aligned, and energised. Whether you're here to relax, recharge, or recover, you're in the right hands.

What to expect:
Nearest transport: We’re easy to reach — especially the Old Street branch, which is just by the Central Street and St Luke’s bus stops.

What we’re known for: Massage, chiropractic, physio, and genuinely caring therapists who listen.

What we like about the venue:

  • Atmosphere: Calm, Grounding and Welcoming
  • Specialises in: Massages and Chiropractic
  • Brands and products used: Organic products.
