Please note: Our main entrance is open until 4 PM on weekdays, and remains closed after 4 PM, as well as on public holidays and weekends.

Entry is available via the screen door system.

To enter, simply scroll down and select:

Once inside, pass through both doors and take the elevator to Level 6. Upon arrival, please have a seat near the elevator—your therapist will be with you shortly.

How to prepare?

Please arrive at least 5 minutes in advance of your appointment in order to get settled into the space and complete any necessary paperwork with the therapist. Please also note that you are reserving a specific appointment slot with an assigned practitioner at Holistic & Sports Massage, so if you need to cancel your reservation, please do so as early in advance as possible!

Treatment is performed by Swamiraj, a qualified Physiotherapist at north-55 Sports Physiotherapy in central Edinburgh.

He holds a BSc in Physiotherapy and an MSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine, with a focus on helping clients relieve muscular tension, recover from injuries, and improve mobility so they can return to daily activities and sport with confidence.

Swamiraj has worked as a Sports Physiotherapist with the University of Edinburgh Football Association, supporting athletes through injury assessment, rehabilitation, and safe return to play. He has also gained clinical experience in an insurance-based private physiotherapy setting, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and guiding patients through structured recovery programmes.

At North-55 Sports Physiotherapy, he combines evidence-based physiotherapy knowledge with sports and deep tissue massage techniques to deliver personalised, results-focused treatments that help clients move better and feel stronger.

Welcome to Douglas Caird Intuitive Holistic Therapy, Edinburgh. Douglas is an experienced therapist, having dedicated over 20 years to working as a full-time professional practitioner. His treatments are nourishing, restorative and balancing and focus on gently relieving physical and emotional build-up, holding and tensions from stress and anxiety. Douglas will encourage and support you in making the most of your session – for your experience to be the one that is most helpful to you.

Douglas’s massage (originally Swedish based) can be described as nourishing holistic massage and bodywork in that it intrinsically encompasses elements of all the approaches he works with. Integrated sessions are also encouraged, where a combination of treatments are used to work with you in the most appropriate way on the day.

With a wholly person-centred approach, Douglas encourages working in a way in which your session can be tailored to suit your needs on the day and can be changed at any time. You can therefore book the treatment/s that you know you want, or just book an open session and decide on the day, after consultation.

Initially qualified in reflexology he then trained in massage and reiki (master level), clinical hypnotherapy and emotional freedom techniques. In 2024, he completed a 2 year diploma in person-centred counselling and psychotherapy.

Douglas has worked in a variety of clinic settings in Edinburgh and Gloucestershire, including a 3 year period as a senior therapist in 2 high-end rural spas. During this time he taught massage, Indian head massage and spa therapies (BTEC) at Stroud college. He worked as a volunteer counsellor at FDAMH, Falkirk’s Mental health Association.
