Lovely hotel with the most beautiful indoor/outdoor spa facilities. I often find it difficult to relax during treatments but this was not a problem here! The therapist was friendly, professional and experienced - the back, neck, shoulder and scalp massage was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Had high expectations and I wasn't disappointed.
Expensive but expected.
Worth the money.

Amazing hotel but two problems- they booked up our treatment and hot tub at same time so we ended up missing out on the hot tub, also the hotel and treatwell both charged me, so luckily I spotted I was double charged and requested a refund

The spa was incredible, great facilities and amazing staff. The food was also great in the restaurant. As it was a sunday night stay, it was also quite quiet and enough space in the pool etc which added to the experience.

The most delightful setting, rooms and ambience. Wonderful dinner and excellent staff with wonderful attention to detail by most. Breakfast service was a bit patchy - we were in a corner and they forgot us for a while, got our order wrong, and then forgot another part of it altogether. Minor quibble for what was otherwise a wonderful experience. Prices not cheap, but reflect excellence of set up and service (apart from breakfast!)

We booked the dinner bed and breakfast and had a lovely time. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and spa facilities were excellent. The venue and grounds are beautiful (although it's a shame the decor is a bit too modern). My husband had a massage which we booked separately and he said it was excellent. Dinner was good and we spent some time in the bar too. Great weekend!

The hotel itself is beautiful and well managed. The dinner in the Reflection restaurant was exception with extremely attentive serving staff, with unparalleled customer service and some of the best food I have had for a long long time. Accommodation was good with plenty of room and gorgeous spa toiletries. The rooms are connected directly to the spa building is great as you can flit back and forth easily. Only downside is that there is no air conditioning in this building, so it was extremely hot during the summer and required a standalone noisy fan to be turned on every 2 hours (on a timer).

The indoor pool area was a bit disappointing, the hot tub was far from and the jacuzzi jets weren't that abundant in weak in areas. The outdoor hot tub was much warmer, and the private hot tubs were a lovely retreat away from everyone else. It would also be nice to get some occasional service to the outside area, to up sell drinks etc. The treatment (a full body massage) was extremely relaxing and recommended.

Overall it was a great stay, with super food, however the spa felt a bit lack luster and a bit disowned, compared to the levels of the hotel itself. It also seemed a bit disorganised going to wait for your treatments. Some things could just have been a bit smoother and even more relaxing.

I could not fault our entire over night stay at the Alexander. From the moment we arrived the staff were prompt, courteous and respectful of all our requirements. Nothing was too much bother and the staff were just the right level of attentive and not imposing. We visited earlier than our check in time for afternoon tea and then once checked at 3pm for our stay went on to use the facilities, all of it was impeccably presented and really impressive.
Some people have commented on the noise factor of the pool, yes it is noisy when the indoor Jacuzzi is on full pelt but this is because of the pressure it creates (exactly what it's supposed to do!) and therefore the subsequent noise, equally keep in mind that like a lot of hotels the pool is on the ground floor/basement which amplifies the noise somewhat. However this is no different to our stays in other hotels, such as the Grand in Eastbourne that also has the same lay out.
I paid for my partner to have the 40 minutes Swedish massage and he said it was fantastic. His therapist applied the desired amount of pressure and he was left feeling very relaxed and knot free. In comparison to places such as The Treatment Rooms in Brighton (best massage I've ever had) yes, the cost is on the higher side, but then you are paying for the facilities and the caliber of the environment too.
The food was great and our room was beautiful, we will most definitely be returning next year to celebrate our anniversary in style!
The only con I can say for our stay was that booking via Treatwell made it a little difficult. When you book on the site you are asked if the purchase is a gift, as was the case in my instance. However, when then confirming my reservation earlier in the week in which we were staying I became rather worried when it could not be located, this was because even though the booking was on my card they had used the 'recipients' name on everything else as reference and had therefore double booked all of our other reservations. Unfortunately the booking department that I spoke to incurred several issues on the phone and weren't able to help me much, however by the time we arrive at the hotel everything had been sorted accordingly. Just keep in this in mind!
