All of the staff are very welcoming, nails look great and they really care about what you want. Very good value for money. I do worry about the drills they use on your natural nail but I guess that is what you pay for.
I had two treatments done and while the 1st was okay - though not the best shellac pedicure I have had, even from this same venue, BY FAR - I felt the 2nd (manicure) left much to be desired. My visit validated my preference for a male technician to do my nails, I only go to the ladies when forced. This may sound mean and this is not to discriminate unfairly, however I have experienced genuine issues with quality more than once and they have been almost exclusively with the female technicians here. A few other regulars of my acquaintance have expressed a similar sentiment. I was therefore automatically wary when I saw that all the male technicians were occupied.
By the time I was having this done, the day was admittedly drawing to a close and I felt that the lady doing my nails began to rush, which would have been fine, except that her standards began to decline. The lateness in the day was not due to any fault of my own having booked my treatment in advance and had arrived promptly. The reason was the 25 min wait for the beginning of my appointment that caused this sequence of events. This is not unusual, this is a popular place, and I do not normally mind but for the prices I am paying for a service that should last 2 weeks I do not expect to feel as though I am being desperately rushed out of the door.
The lady began to use the polish sparsely almost as though she needed to save it for something resulting in a thin, uneven coat on my nails. She kept going over and over with the brush trying to spread what was clearly not enough vanish. There was a simple solution to this which would be to JUST USE MORE OF THE PRODUCT. Also, during the manicure preceding the shellac, she created a sharp point on the surface of my nails that I saw her notice, which she just proceeded to paint over. She seemingly took zero pride in her work and only once I had left the shop did I realise the true extent of the shoddy work done.
My nails chipped - the 1st time - within 3 days of the treatment and have continued to do so. I did not even want to go back to get this fixed, even if I had had the time to do so. I had a wedding to attend the following week and the deterioration of my nails was a genuine cause of concern.
This shop tends to be my regular, due to its proximity to my home and usually does good work. I normally have only good things to say. However, this experience was remarkably sub-par and if this service were to continue I will have to look elsewhere. I fully intended to tip, but was disinclined to even before I really saw my nails. Not pleased. Think I will actively ask for a man in future.
On an unrelated note, I would really like them to offer mirror/holographic shellac nail treatments as this is what I originally wanted. They said they have them at their other locations so hope they will catch up by my next (and possibly last) visit.
