I had some (standard, non-gel) polish on my nails that I asked them to remove - the polish was then mechanically filed off the top of my nails instead of using normal nail-polish remover (I tried asking them to stop but they didn't understand even when a second therapist intervened), damaging the nails. The polish they then used was clumpy and never dried fully - it has chipped terribly in less than 48 hours, with one entire nail's worth coming away. I didn't even know that was possible.
