About

My journey into bodywork began with my own healing. For many years, my life was rooted in art and hospitality. I studied Fine Arts and later ran a catering company and a London supper club that thrived for over a decade. On the surface, life was successful — busy, creative, full of connection. But below the surface, I was looking for a more authentic connection with myself and my body. A serious health crisis forced me to stop. That pause was painful, but it also opened a doorway: an awakening to how much of myself I had lost touch with. In the months that followed I began to sense how healing begins when we come home to the body — when we learn to listen inwardly. Once I got the all-clear from my oncologists, I retraced my footsteps to Peru, where I had previously worked with plant medicine. A stint in the Amazon allowed me to start understanding the body as a place of profound wisdom, with its own rhythm and language. I began to discover and heal the early scars that may have contributed to my own health crisis. On returning, I retrained in massage and myofascial release, drawn to approaches that don’t just address symptoms but help us untangle the deeper patterns — physical, emotional, and relational — that shape how we move and how we experience pain. Alongside my therapeutic work, I maintain a personal spiritual practice that continues to ground and guide me. At its heart is the belief that mindful presence and embodied awareness are not abstract ideals, but practical tools for living with more ease and connection. In my sessions, I hope to offer not just relief from tension or pain, but also the possibility of fostering these qualities — so clients can begin to carry them into their own daily lives. The name Unalome reflects this path. In Buddhist symbolism, the unalome represents the journey of being human: the twists, knots, and tangles we encounter, followed by the gradual unfurling into clarity and stillness. To me, it is a reminder that healing is rarely linear, yet every step matters. My role is to walk alongside clients on their own spiral path — helping to soften the knots, create space, and invite the body’s natural wisdom to emerge. My practice is continually evolving. I am committed to learning and refining how I can work more effectively with pain, not only in its physical form but also the subtle imprints of our life experiences that settle in the body. In this, I am hugely indebted to the teachings of Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine, Stephen Porges, Tara Brach, Robert Schleip, and Marian Rosen. Their work has illuminated for me the intricate ways our bodies hold memory, trauma, and resilience. Today, I offer treatments as a fully insured and registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). More than a profession, this work feels like a continuation of my own healing path — a way to share what I have learned, and to hold space for others as they find their own way back to wholeness.
