Needed to quickly get a manicure in my lunch hour so picked Top Nails as it is very close to my work. Booked the 30 minute manicure at £17, which is a little more than what I usually pay for the same treatment but didn’t moan given the location. The treatment ended up taken an hour and a quarter and that’s without drying time. The girl didn’t appear to know what she was doing and it was the worst manicure I’ve had in a very long time – she hadn’t totally removed the previous colour off the nails, the shape was not consistent, the painting was terrible and I had to leave with them still wet as it had taken so long to complete which resulted in smudging. After complaining I was told to come back that evening, which I did and had the colour removed, refiled and shaped, at this point they had to file my nails down very short to make up for the mistakes of the original manicure. Although they were very polite and attentive when I came back for the correction, I was still charged £10 and won’t be returning.
Booked on treatwell and paid in advance. Booked a lunchtime appointment. I got there on time and waited to be seen. 20 minutes later I had to ask them if I could come back that evening as I had to get back to work (I paid in advance, otherwise I would have just gone somewhere else). When I went back they saw me, albeit 10 minutes late. I had acrylic nails, they were fine and they did them as short as I wanted them (usually people do them for long). Good price for central London, but why bother having an appointment system if it doesn't actually mean anything?
