It's a lovely salon with a coffee shop, the owner greeted me in a very friendly way and went to fetch the therapist to show me downstairs.
I was shown to the treatment room and left with no baby wipes or towel to cover myself.
The therapist worked on large areas, respread the sugar wax over each area repeatedly before pulling it off (ouch!), mostly did not warn me when she was finally going to pull the wax, asked me if I had a low pain threshold (not usually), dabbed at extra bits hard enough to bruise me (literally) and generally made me feel like I was just being a wimp. I don't think I should already have been so tense with hair pulling pain from the application of the wax that the removal was less painful and a relief.
Normally when going for a sugar wax, I have been given baby wipes to start, a warm flannel to clean off with afterwards and the therapist has worked small areas which don't require two pulls to remove the wax.
I've never had such a painful wax before, either with normal wax or sugar. I've always found sugaring to be less painful than waxing except at this one place.
I would advise going to a specialist place for sugaring. This was not worth the cheaper than usual price for me.
