For those seeking the ultimate in well-being, day and overnight spa packages are available for men, women and couples. Use of the spa is free to most hotel guests and spa day customers and we are open seven days a week. Monday to Friday 7.00am to 9.00pm, weekends and Bank holidays 8.00am to 8.00pm. Our three treatment rooms are generally open from 10am to 6pm everyday, though earlier and later appointments are available on request.

Children are welcome in our pool during our family times which are 10.30am to 12.30pm and 3.00pm to 5.00pm daily.

For the first time Historic Sussex Hotels have been included in the London Stock Exchanges landmark 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report. What does this mean? It is a report produced annually to showcase the UKs most inspiring and fast growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To be selected for the list, businesses must demonstrate positive growth in revenue over the last four years and also significantly outperform their sector peers. The list, of 1000 companies, includes only two other hotels. Historic Sussex Hotels is one of only 148 companies on the list from the South East.

Beautiful hotel and environment with friendly professional staff and delicious food .
The treatments and therapists were 5 star - the only thing that could be improved was the range of facilities in the spa as they were basic and there are children allowed in the pool at certain times .
However would definitely return, and great value for money .

We booked this as a very last minute night away. To my surprise, the hotel is right in the centre of Midhurst, our SATNAV stuggled to find it but once we navigated the one way streets we discovered this striking hotel with plenty of parking on site. The staff on reception were welcoming and knowledgeable, showing us to our room and wishing us a happy stay. I had called and booked dinner for the evening 2 days in advance and that reservation was held and reception was aware of it.

The room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well equipped; hair dryer, ironing board....

We popped down to the bar for a drink before we visited the spa and this is were things became a little disappointing, my boyfriend enjoys draught lagers of which there was only one. There were an extraordinary number of gins and vodkas available but these did not come cheap.

The spa was lovely, courteous, experienced staff completed both of our massages in lovely rooms. I read a previous review that stated it was noisy in the treatment room & in unfortunately I have to agree. For a good 10 minutes of my treatment, I had to listen to a mother & grandma trying to hurry their child out of the male changing rooms.

Our predinner drink was some what ruined by the one draught lager being out of gas & my partner being offered a replacement drink for which we were charged!!

We had dinner in the main restaurant and we were very much looking forward to it. The room is large and wasn't very busy, there was no ambient music and were very close to other couples which made for quite a stilted atmosphere; the food was by no means what it was cracked up to be; well presented but lacking in taste. My boyfriend's venison (£6 supplement) was served with the wrong sauce and was very tough. The restaurant staff could not be faulted but we were disappointed with the meal and at no point were we asked if everything was agreeable.

Breakfast was wonderful!!! We'd asked for a paper but didn't received it.

I would return to the hotel but would not chose to have dinner in the restaurant again & would be careful about the times that I booked treatments during school holidays so as to avoid children!

I had requested a full body aromatherapy massage. I have had many massages in different countries so I feel I'm quite experience. My masseuse asked me if any areas she could work on? I mentioned my shoulders, as I always do. Well all I received was a full back massage, she concentrated on my back shoulders when in fact I pointed to my front shoulders. She did not ask me to lay on my back, did not touch my arms back or front and hands. She did not do the front of my legs. At £72 I thought this was an expensive back massage quite firm and not the relaxing full body aromatherapy massage. I will not recommend or will I return. A lovely spa but a dissapointed massage.

The best thing about this venue is the ambience and locality. The spa facilities are small but if you don't mind cosy then its fine and staff are very helpful. I would recommend this venue for a one off treat but if you are looking for value for money then choose elsewhere.

The Spread Eagle Hotel is a stunning venue, situated in Midhurst which is a beautiful market town in West Sussex. I had booked onto the One Night Yoga Retreat which was pure bliss involving two Yoga sessions, spa time, informative talks and amazing food. Elaine Vaughan, the Yoga instructor, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable - I learnt so much in such a short space of time in terms of making small changes which would have a big impact. The talks Elaine held were also empowering and turned into a friendly discussion catering for all ages and individual aims of the retreat. The food was very wholesome; the hotel only uses ingredients from local suppliers - and a real bonus was that dessert was on the menu therefore it was possible to enjoy some indulgence as well as practising energising Yoga and drinking yummy nutritious smoothies. There was a 25 minute spa treatment included, and equipped with time in the spa it gave the retreat a relaxing edge. I have come away with a clear mind, feeling relaxed yet focussed - something every city worker should experience! It has also opened my mind to Yoga, being a complete novice I now understand the various types and health benefits, something I will also pass onto friends and family. It's hard to believe it was all fit into just 24 hours, but the retreat was perfectly timed and with the wellbeing focus as well as spa time...perfectly balanced!

I have been recommending the hotel to everyone who asked about my weekend! Fantastic break with great facilities and the staff were the perfect mix - attentive and unobtrusive. I can't speak highly enough of the spread eagle.

Fantastic afternoon tea for two plus massage in this countryside venue. Massage really relaxing and facilities really clean and never felt cramped or busy. Staff really friendly and welcoming, and the afternoon tea was superb in a wonderful period building. Would recommend.

I visited in early March and it was a bright spring day. The sun light hitting the spa glass made it heat up like a green house. There needs to be some ventilation to manage the temperatures better - especially considering what it will be like in the summer!
The photos of the swimming pool used on the company website makes the pool appear much larger than it actually was and I found that deceiving and disappointing when I arrived. The changing rooms were far too small for the numbers of guests using the facilities. At points it was overcrowded and frustrating for many guests including myself. The massage was nice but it was quite repetative and too much oil was used so it just felt quite slippery and not really moving my skin or muscles.
My friend & I were also over-charged for 2 drinks we bought and I had to get the manager to change it, which felt awkward, unnecessarily.

we had a lovely day. Treatments were amazing, not enough room to change once out of pool!! lockers and people trying to get in and out wasn't easy. pool got cold in afternoon. Food fantastic but never received my chunky chips but never told the waiter as i was probably better off without. Over all would do again.
