Had a lovely spa visit with sister.we enjoyed the lunch but it would not have suited our mum if she had come with us.the treatments were excellent. We enjoyed the different heat rooms.Only slight issue is the limited space to sit down by the pool .
Very clean and luxurious spa, but pool area very busy
I booked the luxury spa day for two and had a lovely day. After booking via treatwelk I got an email for The Mere conditioning our treatments and times. I rang up to change the times and the staff were very helpful. It all went very snooithly and I would definitely do it again
chaotic booking, staff initially told us there was no booking with anyone called treatwell, they then acknowledged that we could have booked with treatwell and made a time for our visit. The next day they changed the time with no consultation with us, and they had no idea if the new time was convenient, which it was not. i found out before our visit as they sent an e mail so we had to ring back to rearrange. when we arrived the water had been cut off so we had to rearrange again. Staff were pleasant but booking is very disorganised. Facilities are lovely, it was a shame
Our day didn't get off to a great start. We arrived at 11.30 ready for our treatment at 12.30. We checked in but we're then told they had run out of robes (surely they knew how many people were booked in for that day) so could we take a seat in the restaurant as they'd only be 5 minutes. After 15 minutes nobody had informed us what was happening so we notified a member of staff we were worried about getting ready in time for our treatment, to which she was rather dismissive and told is it wouldn't be long. After asking again another 15 minutes later we finally received our robes... 40 minutes after arriving! This not only meant we got no time around the pool before our treatment, but we also had to rush to get changed and arrived at our first treatment slightly stressed. The massage itself was lovely and the relaxation room afterwards was great. We lay there for a while and then headed to lunch. As I am a vegetarian I was quite disappointed with the menu as the only started I could have, I didn't like main/side. We ordered at 1.30 and it was after 2pm by the time it arrived... meaning again, we had to rush for our second treatment. The mud rasual was an interesting experience as it was almost pitch black, the door handle to the steam room made it almost impossible to open and once in there it wasn't the most comfortable of seats. We washed off (in freezing cold water as the shower didn't seem to heat up, although we couldn't actually see the controls) and headed to the pool. The pool area was lovely but lacked enough beds for everyone so we lounged on the chairs and sofas. I was not aware the spa was also a health club for families with small children and was quite shocked when 3 young children came in and squealed for the whole hour they were there. We ordered a cocktail and lay on the heated loungers for a while before heading home. After paying £180 for a birthday spa day I was quite disappointed with the experience as a whole. The spa itself was lovely and perhaps on a quieter week day would be more enjoyable. I feel £180 could have bought us a much more relaxing day elsewhere.
