the hotel is a beautiful old building and the spa is next door in a more modern building. the spa felt very tired and could really do with an update - peeling paintwork, etc. Also the pool is used as a local swimming pool by families so was full of kids during the day. Nowhere to sit in the spa building really so the communal changing room was full of people sitting, waiting to go for their next treatments. Didn't feel very luxurious at all.
The massage was ok but not firm at all which is what i had asked for, and it might seem minor, but there was no background music, so i ended up listening to the sound of flushing toilets, running taps, the ferocious airconditioning and other people outside the room talking.
The hotel was fine - I staying a lot of hotels for work - it wasn't the best or the worst (actually our room service breakfast didn't arrive before we had to leave in the morning).
The food in the restaurant was very good though - but slow to arrive - 2 hours to eat 3 courses.
Overall I feel that it was one of the lowest priced Spa offers in the area and for what we paid it was fine.

Had the most delicious bit of me time. The staff were very professional and my treatments were divine. The only addition that would have made it better would be a spa pool/jacuzzi. Otherwise it was a lovely day and ticked all my boxes. I floated out. Hadn't realised that the package included lunch so that was a nice surprise on arrival. Would certainly go again. Thank you!

I will start with what I loved about the SPA that I gave it 4 stars:

1: There was lovely relaxing spa music being pumped into the pool area which was really relaxing.

2: The steam room and sauna were both very aromatic (in a good way!) and had enough space.

3: We booked in for a winter warmer package and the shortbread was freshly baked. very buttery and crumbly.

4: The relaxation room is a nice relaxing warm space for a little nap and cup of herbal tea.

5: Sudha, the Nepalese lady who gave me my massage was INCREDIBLE! the pressure was really firm (just how I like it!) and she worked out all the deep knots in my shoulders. Its a shame she is leaving in March!

6: The girls in reception kindly gave me a new robe when I accidentally dropped mine on the wet floor of the changing rooms. Some spas can get a bit grumpy about that but they were really lovely.

7: One of the girls in the reception went out of her way to make sure we were looked after and walked from the SPA to the hotel bar to make sure we got out winter warmer, because she couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone.

I would have given the SPA 5 stars if:

1: The changing rooms had been a bit tidier (because there is no towel or robe bin in the changing room and no sign to say where to take your towels and robes once used) people just dumped them in the changing rooms.

2: Patrons were not allowed to reserve the day beds by the pool and wonder off for an hours massage leaving us no where to sit & relax). There were at least 4 beds which were reserved and empty for an hour.

3: Wish we had been pre-warned of a kids swimming lesson. Lucky we had been in the pool for 30 minutes before that so it wasn't too bad.

I will go back again, in fact I am going back again, I have booked myself in for a spa day for my birthday as a treat, before Sudha leaves so I can get another amazing massage!

The day at the spa was lovely, the facilities were very good, I think the steam room could have done with a bit more essence in the steam some menthol or lavender perhaps, but otherwise it was lovely. The staff were very professional and curtious, the afternoon tea in the hotel was beautiful and so filling, I would go back for the tea again. All in all a very good experience.

Everything very nice, but changing room, showers not sufficient for numbers. One loo flush broken. A hot tub would have been good. But a lovely day.

The spa is quite small but the best thing about this spa is the staff. They were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The lunch was fantastic, a tasty wrap, salad, fruit, a divine chocolate brownie and a lovely glass of prosecco. The massage was the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back.

The Hotel and Spa were really lovely but, as it was half term, the swimming pool had a lot of children in it by about 4pm so was not what you could really call relaxing.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, although I had had trouble booking the treatments themselves some 3 weeks prior.

The dinner was lovely but the breakfast was a little less successful as there did not appear to be anyone checking to see if things ran out. Therefore, several times guests had to ask for things to be replenished.

Over all, though, we had a lovely time and would recommend it.

The hotel itself was lovely, old beautiful building and clean. Reception staff weren't overly smiley, but fine. Dinner on the first night was great - the food is fab, but the service was slow. It took 2.5rs for dinner for 2x people. We had lots to chat about but it was notably slow.
The spa isn't really a spa at all, it's a separate building with a small hotel gym and a pool. The pool was fine but the poolside shower area, steam room etc all need a really good clean! The steam room needs some nice smelling scent in it as the 'natural' scent was one of stale, slightly fishy aroma... Not nice. The drain in the steam room was foul and the floor not great esp when you are in a swimsuit and bare feet. The pool itself doesn't have a big area around it, although there are 4-5 loungers, it's fine. There was gum stuck to one side of the little table which was a bit grim. As I said, the whole pool, steam rooms etc just needs a really good scrub.
The treatments were very good but the facial was a bit mechanical rather than really relaxing. The massage as excellent.
Getting to book treatments was an utter nightmare however - I think it took me 11x calls in the end!

The staff was the best thing about our weekend stay; they all made sure we were looked after - thank you! The spa treatments were lovely as well, had a very good massage and facial treatments. The pool is big enough for a good swim and didn't feel crowded at any point; however, the sauna and steam rooms are quite small

The hotel itself could really use a refurb; the carpets are quite old in certain places; and the restaurant does not have a pleasant atmosphere. I appreciate that this may be used as a conference room at times, but the spotlights in the ceiling and bare walls do not create a nice dinner environment. We ended up having our dinner in the lounge room opposite to the restaurant on the second night, which was more pleasant.

The hotel is beautiful and easy to get to from SW London. The staff were wonderful and polite, always doing their best to help. The dinner and breakfast were lovely too, the room service meals a bit plain, particularly for the price. However before our arrival we weren't notified of weddings that were taking place at the hotel on both days. The weddings guests totally dominated the hotel such that other guests couldn't get to the hotel bar, get through the entrance to the hotel or sit in the garden without being surrounded by noisy guests and music. Room service and dinner took far too long because staff were stretched. The spa's air conditioning had broken and although they had brought in temporary cooling units, it was far too hot to be enjoyable so we sat in the garden instead (surrounded by wedding prep or guests).

This is my third visit to the spa and my only critisism is that there were children in the pool after 10am when it clearly states that children are only allowed in before 10am and after 3pm. The staff are friendly and the afternoon tea was delicious.
