This was my second visit to Rookery Hall - I purchased two vouchers at the same time. Ok for the money but there are better. The rasul had two types of mud which were a little lumpy but usable, other Rasuls I have used have had more variety and better quality mud. I had no problem getting a lounger, but other people were walking about with no where to sit.
What a great experience! Absolutely loved the day at the spa, would recommend to anybody!
This was my first visit to Rookery Hall. It was alright but not as good as other spas I have been to. Initially there were lots of noisy children in the pool area which did not make it very relaxing, the pool temperature was slightly cool and there were hair balls in the changing rooms where the cleaning was a bit sloppy. At no time during the day did I see a staff member check the area. I got this really cheap, so it was OK for what I paid, but more like using a hotel's facilities rather than visiting a spa.
Visited this spa recently and had a lovely relaxing break away from it all. Arrived around 9:30 and was booked in very quickly and efficently and introduced to my spa hostess for the day who gave me a tour of the spa, advised on the time of the treatment, and gave me robe, towels and slippers for the day. Did like the fact that slippers were provided lots of places don't provide them, also the robe was the softest ive ever had, really snug. Changing rooms, like the reception had full on the espa european dark woods theme in design, all seemed to flow very nicely through. Top marks for the large lockers too, complete with coat hanger and compartments for smaller items. Showers, clean and very spacious, with branded toiletries. The pool was the next stop, tad cool for my liking, but very clean, stylish and a good size, with its slate pebble colour steps, big thumbs up from someone like me without their specs on. Had a lovely swim in the pool on my own with no disruptions for a good hour, before deciding to explore the rest of the wet facilities, again top notch, lovely slate steam room seating about 4 or 5 and a lovely hot sauna again seating about 4 or 5. Then on to the enormos jacuzzi complete with swan water jets and two tier feel with jets on a giant step for you to lie on....totally chilled. The pool also had plenty of loungers to chill on too. I then made my way through to the spa's amber lounge, with armchairs and herbal teas and waters, would have liked more selection, maybe able to choose a juice or smoothie?, therapist came through and very shortly i was whisked off for a lovely hot stone massage, all very nice, prob not the most intense ive ever had, but still very nice. After the treatment was taken through to the relaxation room with its zen decorations, water feature and individual beds for snooze time, really nice, feel asleep for an hour or so...lovely. Lunch was served in the brasserie, with a good selection of sandwhiches to pastas to burgers for the not so good :). Again would have liked maybe some smoothies or fresh juices on offer....drinks seem to consist of bar drinks j20's to beers to coffees...,but yes all in all a fab chilled day, snoozing, swimming and generally chilling, will be back again soon :)
A friend and I booked an afternoon tea for two at Rookery Hall through Wahanda. It cost £99 and included a back, neck and shoulder massage for two and afternoon tea. When I rang up to book they offered an upgrade to a full body massage for an extra £18 each - which we gladly accepted. Our day turned out to be bliss. The staff are the friendliest I've met at a spa - going out of their way to help you, which even included offering me a free coffee because they couldn't find any peppermint tea after I'd ordered it. They eventually located a tea and gave me that free of charge as well. It's the small things that make a difference and make you feel welcome - one female receptionist spotted the camera my friend was holding and offered to take a picture of us both as a memento of our day. The facilities are very spacious and clean. The pool is big and not too cold. There's also a relaxing bubble pool, crystal steam room and sauna. There are also enough loungers to go around. The changing rooms are also very clean and every time we returned to our lockers we'd notice that a staff member had been in to refresh the towels and clean out the paper bin. The only slight criticism I'd have is that as the spa belongs to the hotel you can find families turning up to splash about in the pool with young children. And while I have no problem with children - it makes it a bit difficult to relax and get that full spa experience while you're ears are bombarded with screams! Still, it's a very minor complaint. The massage we both had (which lasted one hour) was very enjoyable and the masseur found spots of tension that I didn't even know were there! All the knots soon melted away under some very firm pressure. Overall I'd rate my experience as 9 out of 10. And I'm already planning a return visit near to Christmas.
