I've been to Penny Hill several times. The facilities are excellent. However over the years I have noticed a decline in the service. Afternoon tea was lovely as always although service was a little slow and while we were informed that we could have more sandwiches if we wanted no one came and asked us during our meal if we needed anything and in general I feel staff could have been more attentive. During my visit there did not seem to be any members of staff around in the spa area. I only saw one towards the end of the evening. Plates and the remains of an afternoon tea were left on a table by the pool area. The massage I had was excellent, in the past I've always been provided with a glass of water after my massage but this did not happen this time, it may have been an oversight and is such a small detail it is hardly worth mentioning, however, I feel it is again a sign of standards slipping. I go to Penny Hill for a luxury pamper experience, I did not feel as pampered as I have in the past but I still enjoyed my visit.
